DEFINITION: Under general supervision, responsibilities will include but not be limited to light office tasks, customer service, set up and take down of facility equipment and janitorial tasks. Perform related work as required.

Lead Facilities Attendants are expected to oversee Facility Attendant staff, supporting ongoing training, communication, and tracking of facility rentals, as well as speak and respond to rental related needs/ issues.   This is a part-time, year-round position.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Set up and take down tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, and other related material and equipment.
• Greet public and provide general information for all Recreation department classes, programs, and events.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, operates a variety of transit vehicles to transport passengers along specific, assigned routes according to the District's requirements. Provide service in a safe, courteous and reliable manner. Responsible for written reports and other information as required. Upon completion of the Golden Gate Transit Training Program, the employee operates regularly scheduled assignments. All runs will originate in either Santa Rosa, Novato or San Rafael.

Hourly Pay: $31.29/hour to $36.81/hour

 If selected for the position, new hires will need to complete Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District’s Bus Operator Apprenticeship Program ($31.29/hr benefits not included) which is approximately twelve (12) weeks, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Upon successful completion of training, pay increase granted to $33.13 per hour, plus benefits. All new hires will be required to complete a 120 probationary period upon completion of training.

• Prepares maps and drawings using geographic information system (GIS) tools to place symbols and apply color codes for the identification of facilities
• Receives, reviews, provides comments, files, and returns maps, documents, and plans using AUTOCAD
• Performs scaling and dimensioning to verify the accuracy of maps and plans
• Assists in conducting field inventory of existing primary and secondary conductors, transformers, switches, poles, pole attachments, manholes, and conduit locations
• Draws and updates electrical schematic diagrams, panel wiring diagrams, substation layout drawings using AUTOCAD, and organizes associated documentation
• Prepares scaled and dimensioned plans, using AUTOCAD based on sketches prepared by engineering/estimating personnel
• Operates a computer and standard office plotting/copying equipment
• Conducts records research including job files, property ownership, easement and right-of-way records
• Maintains records of equipment databases, log books, and map inventories
• Operates passenger vehicles requiring Class C driver's license
• Orders office drafting supplies, manages outside reproduction services, and coordinates vendor services for office drafting equipment maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited junior college with an Associate of Arts degree or higher in engineering or its equivalent, including satisfactory completion of college level courses in writing, mathematics, engineering and related courses; and
• One (1) year working with geographic information system (GIS) tools and systems or one (1) year working with computer-aided drafting (AUTOCAD).
 
Desirable Qualifications:
• One year (1) experience working with computer-aided drafting (AUTOCAD) and one year (1) experience working with geographic information system (GIS).
• Completion of courses in GIS and AUTOCAD.
 
Possible Substitutions:
• Three (3) years of work experience performing mapping/drafting activities of electric utility facilities, involving the use of CAD and GIS systems and tools may substitute for the required education and experience.

Under general supervision, a Recreator III independently performs assigned tasks which serve the public use of municipal recreation facilities and other duties as required.

Open and close facilities following established guidelines, set up equipment needed for facility programs, perform routine maintenance and cleanup for assigned facilities, collect fees for facility use, maintain order and discipline in assigned facilities and programs by enforcing City and Departmental policies, may facilitate in assigned program areas, may supervise other part-time staff, volunteers, or court workers as assigned, and maintain accurate records and reports. Job Description

Under general supervision, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide variety of pumping, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and auxiliary plant machinery and equipment in a large complex or multi-faceted facility. Ensures that all equipment, machinery and systems are functioning normally and safely, and complies with all applicable safety rules and regulations.

MAJOR, IMPORTANT, AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Operates, maintains and repairs a wide variety of pumping, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and power generating equipment in a large complex or multi-faceted facility to ensure the safe, correct and efficient functioning of the facility and equipment may be required to operate computerized building management systems, preventative or predictive maintenance computer systems or Computerized Data Gathering System (SCADA).2. Inspects and tests: machinery and equipment for safe, efficient and proper operation by visual and audio inspection during walk-throughs and by standard monitoring; fire prevention equipment to ensure safe and proper functionality; water storage and multiple distribution systems, high pressure zones, wood and steel storage tanks, pumps and relief valves, and samples of water.

3. Under general supervision from the Communications Supervisor, the Communications Operator operates a computer aided dispatch system receiving calls and dispatching police, fire or other City services.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is a journey technical level position in which incumbents are expected to independently perform the full range of duties assigned. This class is distinguished from the Communications Supervisor in that the latter provides technical and functional supervision over assigned communication personnel.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Communications Center in the Support Services Division of the Hayward Police Department is responsible for dispatching both Police and Fire Services throughout the City of Hayward. The Hayward Police Department is one of 18 CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement) accredited police departments in California and is committed to maintaining CALEA's high standards and broadly recognized excellence.
The Communications Center is frequently the first point of contact that a member of the public will have when requesting assistance from the City of Hayward. The information gathered by the communications operator during this contact is critical to a positive outcome. The Communications Center consists of six (6) stations with each communications operator assigned to a specific job.

Licenses and Certificates: Completion of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic Public Safety Dispatcher course is highly desirable.
