The Position

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides oversight and strategic direction for nursing practice across the organization’s continuum of care. This role ensures a unified nursing vision and consistent standards of practice in all clinical areas where patients receive nursing services. The CNO establishes nursing policies, procedures, standards of practice, and care models that meet the needs of the patient populations served by the organization. They assess, plan, and monitor the resources necessary to support safe, high-quality patient care and foster an environment that promotes staff recruitment, retention, and professional growth.

The Chief Nursing Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The incumbent exercises direct and indirect supervision over skilled nursing, acute psychiatry, emergency services, acute medical/surgical services, perioperative services, ambulatory nursing practice, case management, social services, and other managerial, clinical, technical, and clerical staff. The CNO also collaborates with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Quality & Experience Officer, and Chief Financial Officer to ensure the optimal delivery of medical services at San Mateo Medical Center.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in California
• Certification in Nursing Administration issued by the American Nurses Credential Center (ANCC) upon hire or within two years of hire

Experience

Four years of increasingly responsible experience in a healthcare organization performing a variety of administrative and management duties.

In addition, successful candidates will possess a minimum of two years of experience within the past five years in a senior-level administrative or executive leadership position.

Education

Possession of, or current enrollment in, an advanced degree program in Nursing Science.

About the Position: The Wildlife Ecologist III will co-lead Midpen’s natural resource permitting program for capital and routine maintenance with their counterpart in the Earth Sciences Program.  This position is responsible for negotiating, administering and overseeing compliance with regulatory permits; reviewing documents and other work products prepared by consultants or District staff as needed to satisfy permit application or reporting requirements; obtaining wildlife (Endangered Species Act) permits and overseeing permit compliance for capital projects and routine maintenance; generating reports for submittal to regulatory agencies; and coordinating with regulatory agency staff on permitting and compliance.  General responsibilities of this position will also include managing consultants and contractors; managing wildlife habitat restoration or enhancement projects; writing detailed technical summaries and reports for District staff and the public; and conducting surveys in the field.

The Wildlife Ecologist III has broad technical experience in wildlife and habitat management, is self-directed, and works independently managing complex large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in: negotiating and securing permits (ideally programmatic permits) from regulatory agencies primarily California Department of Fish and Wildlife and US Fish and Wildlife Service but may include US Army Corps of Engineers or Regional Water Quality Control Board; overseeing sensitive status species monitoring, reporting and recovery efforts; land stewardship and environmental planning; data collection, analysis, and interpretation; GIS software or online platforms; preparation of clear and concise reports; developing and maintaining records for regulatory agency permits; and managing consultants and contractors. Knowledge of CEQA is desired but not required.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Possesses a broad breadth of understanding of wildlife management for wide ranging taxa from large megafauna to micro invertebrates

• Experience in negotiating and securing permits (ideally programmatic permits) from regulatory agencies primarily California Department of Fish and Wildlife and US Fish and Wildlife Service but may include US Army Corps of Engineers or Regional Water Quality Control Board.
• Experience overseeing sensitive status species monitoring, reporting and recovery efforts
• Is a creative thinker, problem solver and able to juggle competing priorities
• Strong background in project management, from developing project scopes, schedules and budgets to consultant and contract oversight
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to deliver capital projects, and public access projects, while avoiding or minimizing impacts to sensitive natural resources
• Assists staff in designing projects to reduce the need for mitigation, understands mitigation monitoring and reporting, and works creatively to secure mitigation when needed
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies, environmental advocacy groups, scientists and researchers, as well as other staff, boards, volunteers, vendors and the general public
• Strong public speaking skills

Work Environment: The Wildlife Ecologist III functions within a team environment with other Resource Management staff. Position Description:

Nature of Work:

Incumbent must be willing to work a 40-hour week as determined by the department. The position may also require sufficient physical strength and coordination for lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying the weight of computer systems equipment. The position may also require the following: bending, stooping and/or crawling in order to install or repair computer systems hardware, hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for taking apart casings, installing parts and reconnecting computer systems hardware.

Incumbent will comply with the telecommuting policy at the SFMTA with four (4) days on-site. However, there may be situations where the incumbent will be required to work at other sites throughout the City of San Francisco as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education: An associate degree from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units; AND
2. Five (5) years of experience managing and monitoring a network environment; AND
3. Five (5) years of experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems; AND
4. Three (3) years of experience managing and/or supervising technical personnel.

Substitution:

Additional experience as described above in MQ #2 may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/ forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units

• Ability to design, implement, administer and optimize enterprise network management systems and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) bases monitoring utilities such as, WhatsUp Gold, Nagios, SolarWinds or equivalent.
• Proven ability to automate tasks and maintenance with a combination of custom scripts and other tools.
• Experience managing and mentoring staff. Ideally candidate managing a team of 3 or more network engineers.
• Ability to initiate, drive, and/or support innovation and change.
• Must be self-motivated with time management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate updates, issues, and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on documentation.

About the Position

The City of San Carlos is seeking an energetic, results-oriented Civil Engineering Assistant to join the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department.  Under the supervision of the City Engineer and/or Principal Engineer, the Civil Engineering Assistant is responsible for performing basic civil engineering tasks both in the field and in the office. 

Essential Duties

• Prepare, assist or manage the preparation of specifications, plans, estimates and reports pertaining to the construction, maintenance and operation of a variety of engineering projects.
• Perform design and drafting duties in connection with street, sewer, storm drain, traffic, facilities and other Public Works projects.
• Coordinate, collaborate and communicate with design consultants, contractors and outside agencies to deliver a variety of engineering projects.
• Regularly track project schedules, contracts and budgets.
• Provide field inspection of public/private improvements in the public right of way for compliance with established City standards and procedures.
• Provide information regarding existing infrastructure to satisfy inquiries from staff, developers and citizens.
• Plan check parcel maps, tract maps and private/public agency development plans.

The Pacifica Police Department is responsible for all functions related to law enforcement and crime prevention and is made up of several divisions that carry out specialized duties to help the department perform as a cohesive whole. Those divisions are Field Services, Investigations, Communications and Records. The Bus Fleet Facilities Infrastructure Department oversees the delivery of major bus fleet and facilities infrastructure projects for SamTrans. The projects include design and construction of zero emission infrastructure (battery electric bus (BEB) charging infrastructure and hydrogen fuel cell electric bus (FCEB) infrastructure) for SamTrans's revenue and non­revenue fleet of nearly 400 vehicles, sea level rise and flood mitigation structures, bus administration, transportation, and maintenance buildings, and other structures at SamTrans' North Base and South Base Maintenance Facilities. 

The Construction Manager will report to the Director, Bus Infrastructure and Capital Projects and will be responsible for establishing standards, policies, and processes to manage the construction of SamTrans projects. This position oversees both the construction and construction management of projects, working with Project Managers, Construction Management Team, and Contractors to ensure successful project delivery. Responsibilities include providing constructability review of Contract Documents prior to advertisement, providing guidance to engineering and construction management staff in the planning, organizing and directing the work of contractors, negotiating changes to project scope or budget, directing the advertise, award, and administration phases of construction, and ensuring project and contract compliance with public contracting law.

• Experienced in the management and delivery of complex engineering design projects for public transit agencies.
• Possess Quality Control/Quality Assurance experience.
• Experienced with Storm Water System Management.
• Registered Professional Engineer in the state of California.
• Able to possess a valid California drivers’ license with a safe driving record.

As a key Division Head and member of the Public Works Senior leadership team, the Sustainability Division Manager will lead and guide professional staff and will be instrumental in integrating the City’s vision, goals, and people strategy. This is an essential senior management position reporting to the Deputy Public Works Director. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Oversee, coordinate, and manage key programs and projects in solid waste, organic/food and hazardous waste, water conservation, drought contingency planning and implementation, energy conservation and efficiency, distributed energy resources including solar, battery energy storage and microgrids, clean energy procurement, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure citywide.
