ABOUT THE POSITION

 

The City of Redwood City, Police Department invites you to apply for the position of Administrative Secretary. The incumbent will perform a variety of confidential and complex secretarial and administrative duties as the court liaison as well as providing support to the Investigations Unit.

 

Typical duties may include the following: interact professionally and effectively with judges, district attorneys, defense attorneys, court personnel, law enforcement personnel, outside agencies, and members of the public; provide administrative and operational support for court-related functions and law enforcement investigations within the Police Department; prepare, process, maintain, and distribute court documents, reports, subpoenas, warrants, confidential criminal justice information, and related records in accordance with department policies, legal requirements, and confidentiality standards; serve as a liaison between the Police Department, courts, the District Attorney’s Office, and other agencies regarding scheduling, case information, filings, warrants, subpoenas, records, procedural matters, and time-sensitive deadlines; ensure criminal cases are adequately prepared for court proceedings by reviewing, analyzing, and organizing reports, citations, case files, digital evidence, body-worn camera footage, surveillance video, photographs, audio recordings, and related investigative materials for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with legal, statutory, and departmental requirements; respond to complaints and requests for information regarding department procedures, court processes, instructions, precedents, and regulations; research, compile, and analyze data for special projects and reports; initiate, maintain, and audit files, records, and databases related to court operations, case management, evidence, warrants, and other department records; assist with records retention and compliance with applicable laws, policies, and confidentiality requirements; maintain and update manuals, policies, and resource materials; monitor compliance with court orders, subpoenas, and legal deadlines; exercise independent judgment and discretion while working in a fast-paced environment involving sensitive and confidential information; provide backup support to other Police Department administrative staff as needed; and perform related duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities

• Inspect public works and capital projects – including streets, storm drains, sidewalks, grading, and related infrastructure – for compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards

• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain project documentation, including support for payments and change orders

The City of Newark is looking for General Laborer to be an integral member of the Maintenance Division within the Public Works Department. Under supervision the incumbent will perform tasks to include general cleaning and maintenance of city parks to include planting of trees, shrubs, pruning, fertilizing and watering, mowing and edging turf areas, as well as trash removal from parks, roadways, and medians. This active laborer will remove graffiti, install signage, and assist in the cleaning of storm drains.

Overview:
The Grants, Compliance, and Claims Management Unit with Valley Water is the centralized unit for seeking and managing grants brought in to help fund Valley Water projects. The pre-award side of work within the unit will be administered by this Senior Management Analyst, with support from a Management Analyst II, and oversight by the Grants Unit Manager.
 
Senior Management Analyst (SMA): Core components of the Senior Management Analysts work will include researching grant opportunities and writing grant applications; high levels of collaboration with project teams, grants liaisons in watersheds and water utility divisions, procurement, legal, government relations, capital improvement program, and communications; and tracking/reporting. The position will tie efforts into the two grant roadmaps (i.e. strategic funding plans), assist in preparing updates to the Board and staff via all employee communications, and aid in early compliance reviews (pre-agreement) to ensure Valley Water can meet grant terms and conditions. As a Senior, the position will help implement new grants management software on the pre-award side in coordination with the unit’s compliance and claims staff, assist in updating standard operating procedures, and work with the Unit Manager to clearly define rationale for which grants to pursue.

Management Analyst II: Core components of the Management Analyst II's work will include assisting the SMA in researching grant opportunities and writing grant applications, coordinating with project teams, tracking and reporting grant-related information, assisting with compliance tracking for federal and state grant terms and conditions, and assisting with grant communications such as the bi-monthly Grants One Pager update for the Board of Directors and the Grants Action Team monthly meeting.

Grants, Compliance, and Claims Management Unit (Position Code 68) 

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.

SENIOR BUILDING INSPECTOR

Salary: $58.52 - $74.69 Hourly

The City of Sunnyvale is hiring (1) full-time Senior Building Inspector in the Department of Community Development.

Sunnyvale is a dynamic city in the heart of Silicon Valley. Construction activities continue to grow with a wide range of project types, including tech manufacturing, hazardous occupancies, single-family residential, and multistory mixed-use, multifamily, and commercial buildings.

This position shares the responsibility of supervising 9 experienced inspectors with another Senior Building Inspector. The Building Division is a cohesive and supportive unit that helps each other navigate code compliance and enforcement issues.
