The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is looking for Pool Service Technician for our fantastic swim lesson and aquatic programs, to work at the Silliman Activity & Family Aquatic Center. We are looking for someone to perform a wide variety of duties related to maintaining the City’s Aquatics facilities, pools, water slides and property. Swimming experience is desired. The Program Coordinator for is a unique position that is primarily responsible for planning and coordination of all aspects of the ASES funded After School Academy (ASA) program. ASA provides students in grades 1st through 6th a safe space for expanded learning. Every day students have the opportunity to make social connections, experience enriching activities, and receive academic assistance. Students socialize and connect with our team and their peers daily. ASA supports students every school day immediately after school until 6pm. Our goal is to improve student's social, emotional, and academic potential through community, education, recreation, and enrichment.

• Coordinate all aspects of a After School Academy program

The Guest Service Team Member is responsible for providing the highest quality of guest service to all guests. The Guest Service Team Member is expected to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

The Swim Lesson Instructor is responsible for instructing, supervising, and testing all swim lesson participants to the best of his/her ability. The Swim Lesson Instructor is expected to work mornings, evenings and weekends on a regular basis. Instructors are not required to have any teaching certifications, but are expected to teach the standard set in place by the City of Fremont.

The Silliman Family Aquatic Center Lifeguard Academy is for those seeking employment with the City of Newark. This program is a beginner-level course that covers Lifeguard Training, Water Park Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Swim Lesson Instruction, and center-specific training. **No certifications or previous experience is required! Candidates must be comfortable in the water. Once you successfully pass your lifeguard certification, you’ll get a $1.00 raise to make $19/hour as a lifeguard.**
