ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Gilroy is recruiting for a graduate degree level Economic Development College Summer Intern for the summer of 2026. If you’re a mission-driven graduate student or recent Masters graduate and are ready to apply advanced economic analysis to real-world community impact, then this opportunity is for you. ABOUT THE TEAM 
The Economic Development team is a small, but might group that consists of a Director and Manager dedicated to strengthening and diversifying the local economy in Gilroy. The team focuses on business attraction, retention, expansion, and strategic partnerships that enhance the city’s economic vitality. Working closely with internal departments, community stakeholders, and regional partners, the team plays a central role in shaping initiatives that support sustainable growth. As an intern, you will work directly alongside leadership, gaining insight into how economic development strategy is crafted and executed at the municipal level.

WORK SCHEDULE 
Internships can start as early as May 26, 2026, and end as late as September 30, 2026. This paid internship is offered at 15 - 25 hours per week with flexible scheduling. The office start and end date of the internship will be determined at the time of hire. Work hours are generally Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm.

• Conduct economic, demographic, and market data analysis

• Late December – Early January

Spring Break Camp:

• Late March – Early April

Position Levels

• Recreation Leader 1: Current high school student 
• Recreation Leader 2: High school graduate or current college student 
• Senior Recreation Leader: College graduate with leadership experience

Education and Training

• Experience in recreational activities, effective communication and interaction skills with youth, and ability to collaborate with staff. Must be at least 16 years old.
• Recreation leader 1 and 2: Students under the age of 18 are required to obtain a work permit from their school. 
• All staff 18+ are required to pass a fingerprint check submitted to the Department of Justice. 
• Sr. Recreation Leader: Sufficient education and experience to satisfactorily perform the duties of the classification.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Gilroy is recruiting an undergraduate or graduate-level City Emergency Management College Summer Intern for the summer of 2026. This internship will provide a significant opportunity to gain experience and exposure and accumulate skills that are used daily in city government emergency management programs that make substantial impacts to the community. The Emergency Management Team works year-round to ensure that community is prepared for disasters through planning, training, outreach, and coordination with local and regional partners. Joining our team means contributing to meaningful work that directly supports community reliance and preparedness. 

Working under the supervision of the Emergency Services and Volunteer Coordinator, the Emergency Management Intern will assist with planning, preparedness, outreach, and administrative functions that support OEM programs and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) readiness. Work includes both office-based and field support activities.

Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, Summer Camp Site Leaders are responsible for the day to day operations and implementation of curriculum of their assigned summer day camp, which offer youth and teens daily activities including arts, crafts, games, field trips and special events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Applicants must be high school graduates and have experience working with youth in a recreation setting.  Energetic, self-motivated, creative, and organized.  Able to work as part of a team.  This is a Monday through Friday, 20 to 37.5-hour position that requires open availability.   

SUPERVISION 
Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Summer Camp Site Manager is responsible for on-site supervision of staff and participants of multiple camps located at the same site.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES  

• Serve as a mentor and role model to campers.
• Work as part of a team of camp leaders.
• Safely and appropriately supervise campers on off-site field trips.
• Use positive discipline and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
• Coordinate camp activity rotation schedule and site logistics to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain adequate inventory of camp supplies and equipment within budgetary guidelines.

Description

The Town of Colma Recreation Services Department is currently accepting applications for Recreation Leaders for Summer 2026.  The Recreation Department provides programs and activities for Colma residents of all ages ranging from infants to seniors. Program elements include fitness, enrichment, cultural events, special events, sporting events, trips, and community events. Job Description:  

The Administrative Services Department has a rewarding full-time, 40 hours per week, non-benefited summer internship opportunity to begin in June of 2026. The main function of the job is to perform municipal research and analytical work on an entry level professional basis.

The workload will be a balance of assisting in daily municipal operations and special projects. Duties may include, but are not limited to town-wide capital inventory, risk management, citizens’ requests, record management, benchmarking, policy analysis and research. The position will serve as a regular staff member, and will receive assignments and work direction from the Administrative Services Director. The primary goal of the internship program is to provide a recent graduate an opportunity to apply their academic training in a municipal government setting. Position: Landscape Maintenance Worker 

Salary: $22.30 - $27.11

The City of Redwood City seeks a Landscape Maintenance Worker who will assist in the maintenance of parks and landscaped areas.  Under supervision, the incumbent will operate a variety of landscape maintenance equipment and will perform the following duties:

• Perform a wide variety of general grounds and facility maintenance work including raking leaves, cleaning walkways, removing debris, cleaning restrooms, and related work.
• Water, weed, prune, renovate, and fertilize shrubs, trees, flowerbeds, and landscaped areas.
• Complete turf care including mowing, thatching, fertilizing, plugging, spraying, and installation of new turf areas with both seed and sod.
• Prepare soil and plant flowerbeds, shrubs, trees and landscape areas, including staking, fertilizing and other necessary procedures.
• Utilize a wide variety of hand and power tools and landscape maintenance equipment including a rotary gang mower tractor, rider mowers, tractors, trencher, sprayer, brush chipper and chainsaws.
• Move and install park and recreation equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance on mowing equipment and hand and power tools used in the work.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The incumbent may be required to work on weekends.
