Under general direction of the Director of Transportation for the Bus Transit division, contributes to the mission of Golden Gate Transit by ensuring that Golden Gate Transit has the best possible trained Bus Operators. Instruct Bus Operators for safe operations of vehicles, uniform compliance, and enforcement of District rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Document Bus Operator Students’ performance. Must be willing to work shift assignments from Santa Rosa, Novato, San Rafael, or San Francisco Division locations. May be assigned to perform other duties.
 

Essential Responsibilities

• Conducts training class for newly hired bus operators, including obstacle course, classroom and “over the road” instruction by delivering standardized curriculum.
• Develops classroom curriculum, including itinerary, lesson plans, training and testing materials and implement training for newly hired and existing bus operators.
• Acts as designated D.M.V. examiner in the testing and certification of bus operators; or coordinates with D.M.V. to get student operators V.T.T. cards and license conversations.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation on every facet of training and testing for each student as required and mandated by state and federal governments.
• Performs individual evaluations of student operators progress in the training program.
• Conducts ongoing Verification of Transit Training Classes for existing bus operators and other commercially licensed employees who need to maintain a V.T.T.
• Supervises Bus Operators fitness -for -duty as they report to work, including observing for divergencies from normal behavior patterns, uniform appearance, grooming and possessions of driving credentials and medical card.

• Works with the Director of Training and Safety on compliance with D.O.E., D.O.T., and D.M.V. training and documentation requirements
• Develops and implement minimum standards for bus operator trainees.
• Monitors progress of trainees and provide periodic counseling and progress evaluation.
• Conducts refresher training for bus operators returning to work after extended absence.
• Testifies on training or related fields at bus operator hearings, arbitrations, or trials.

• Re-trains bus operators as directed by disciplinary hearings on accidents or rule violations.
• Evaluates new equipment and changes in existing equipment and prepare data to be used as instruction criteria. (This material is distributed to bus operators when training on this equipment) outlines and checklists.

• Compiles and maintain "Training Subjects Manuals."
• Obtains and maintain appropriate certifications.
• Works with appropriate staff in the recruiting and selection process for bus operators.
• Works with passenger relations and planning department to provide ADA training for persons with disabilities.
• Represents GGT as necessary and assist in the structure and the presentation of the annual Regional Bus Roadeo.
• Instructs and monitor operation of G.F.I farebox and radio systems.
• Observes and monitor safe operation of vehicles by riding with operators, contact and correct operators on safety procedures.
• Issues infractions and/or discipline for violations of safety policy and procedures.
• Ensures employees under their supervision follow established safe work practices and obey all safety rules.
• Performs driver safety observations by riding on board buses or observing from a moving vehicle or fixed location and provide written reports on these observations; and issues discipline for safety violations observed.
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors, and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.

The Household Hazardous Waste Specialist IV is a lead position in the Environmental Health Division of San Mateo County Health. This position will coordinate the division's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program by supporting a team of technicians and program specialists engaged in collection of household hazardous waste and small business hazardous waste in the very small quantity generator (VSQG) program.

Responsibilities include providing subject matter expertise on collection, storage, and shipment of hazardous waste including hazardous waste regulations and the California Health and Safety Code. Coordination of this program involves administrative support of the program such as planning temporary HHW collection events throughout the county. The program specialist is also expected to collect and analyze program data, interpret regulations and make recommendations for implementing program improvements. The Specialist will also serve as the liaison with City, County, and State agencies to assure compliance with all safety and environmental related requirements.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in hazardous materials and hazardous waste management and will have experience managing facilities that collect, ship, and store hazardous waste. More specifically, the ideal candidate will possess:

• Proficiency in training staff in safety procedures, operational procedures, and environmental compliance programs.
• Knowledge of State reporting requirements, including CalRecycle Form 303, electronic verification questionnaires, and hazardous waste permitting for collection events.

The Household Hazardous Waste Specialist IV's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Leading assigned staff by providing direction, training and reviewing work; organizing delegating and coordinating complex projects ensuring the completion of assigned tasks.

The Air District is currently conducting an open recruitment for the position of Senior Air Quality Specialist in the Meteorology and Measurement Division. This is an open recruitment for two (2) full-time, represented positions. 
  
The Meteorology and Measurement Division supports the mission of the Air District by monitoring air quality in the San Francisco Bay Area, forecasting regional and local air quality, and conducting and supporting community organizations to do community-scale air monitoring to guide actions to reduce emissions in the Bay Area and in neighborhoods most impacted by air pollution.

About this Position:
Air Monitoring Projects and Technology (AMPT) is a section in the Meteorology and Measurement Division. Our team performs community air quality investigations using air monitoring vans and other equipment to assess air quality at local scales, particularly in disproportionally impacted communities. AMPT is also building a new team centered around developing, constructing, and operating multi-pollutant, ambient air monitoring stations in communities near refineries.

Including some administrative responsibilities, such as assisting with purchasing and maintaining the inventory of shop supplies, Senior Air Quality Specialists (Senior AQS) in the section help evaluate monitoring methods, test and install instrumentation and sampling systems, support monitoring activities, review data, and leading quality assurance to meet program requirements and community expectations. The Multipurpose Senior Service Program (MSSP) Case Manager will perform professional and clinical social work tasks and duties for older adults living with complex medical conditions to assist them to obtain optimum health, financial, and/or social services. • Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade supplemented by approved courses of instruction in the theory, laws, regulations, and techniques of backflow prevention and/or cross-connection control.
• Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license.
• Possession of an AWWA Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certificate and a California Water Resources Control Board Water Distribution Operator Grade 1 Certificate.  
• Possession of an AWWA Cross-Connection Control Specialist Certificate within one year of appointment.  

Bonus Points:

• Experience administering a water system cross-connection inspection program is highly desirable.

The Department: 

The Purchasing Division of the Department of Finance is hiring a Materials Handler for its Utility Warehouse. The department is looking for experience related to warehouse materials management and receiving deliveries with an emphasis in computerized inventory management system.

 

The Position: 

The Materials Handler is an entry-level position at the purchasing warehouse or the electric utility warehouse.  Under general supervision, this position is responsible for receiving, storing, shipping, and distributing materials, equipment and products to City staff.

The Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Case Manager (Case Management/Assessment Specialist II) will join the Behavioral Health Recovery Services (BHRS) Clinical Team to provide services to individuals housed at the Youth Services Center (YSC) – Juvenile Hall.

Reporting to the Supervising Mental Health Clinician/Unit Supervisor, the AOD Case Manager will support the complex needs of juvenile justice-involved as well as transitional-age individuals, presenting with severe emotional and behavioral challenges, along with multiple risk factors such as co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions, trauma, out-of-home placement, and psychiatric hospitalizations.

The AOD Case Manager will perform a wide variety of intake and referral services, including assessment, evaluation, tracking, and support services for clients receiving substance abuse treatment; develop and implement activities related to substance abuse prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation; and perform other related work as required.
