GENERAL INFO  
  

Under general supervision, the Lifeguard/Swim Instructor I/II performs routine public contact and safety work in serving as a pool lifeguard. They also provide essential support to recreation programs and services by performing custodial tasks, event setup and teardown, program support, and minor maintenance duties relating to aquatics. This temporary, parttime position requires working up to 20 hours per week. The role involves ensuring the health and safety of aquatic patrons, facilities are clean, safe, and operational while delivering excellent customer service. Performs other duties as assigned.   

 

UNIVERSAL POSITION DUTIES (Applicable to all roles; Illustrative Purposes Only)  

Monitor the swimming pool and enforce safety regulations.  

Assist with aquatics programs, special events, and facility upkeep.  

Test and maintain pool water chemistry.  

Set up and tear down for classes, programs, and events.  

Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.  

Work outdoors in sun, rain, or wind as needed.  

 

POSITION-SPECIFIC DUTIES  

 

LIFEGUARD (Illustrative Purposes Only)  

Maintain a "rescue-ready" posture and scan assigned zones for drowning emergencies.  

Work in a rotation with other lifeguards across indoor and outdoor stations.  

Assist with facility operations, special events, and customer service.  

Attend weekly and monthly safety trainings.  

Perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure facility safety.  

Minimum Qualifications:  

Minimum Age: 15  

Education: High school diploma or GED not required.  

Certifications:  

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or ability to obtain).  

First Aid & CPR Certification.  

 

SWIM INSTRUCTOR (Illustrative Purposes Only)  

Teach American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim lessons following provided lesson plans.  

Maintain open communication with parents and participants.  

Assist with emergency responses and pool safety as trained.  

Attend weekly and monthly safety trainings.  

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure facility upkeep.  

Minimum Qualifications:  

Minimum Age: 15  

Education: High school diploma or GED not required.  

Skills: Swimming proficiency at American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Level 4.  

Preferred Certification: Water Safety Instructor.  

 

LIFEGUARD II - POOL MANAGER (Illustrative Purposes Only)  

Supervise lifeguards and enforce safety procedures.  

Conduct lifeguard rotations and monitor staff performance.  

Ensure staff maintain a “rescue-ready” posture and remain alert while on duty.  

Assist in planning and leading weekly and monthly safety trainings.  

Monitor pool chemicals and water quality.  

Open, close, and secure facility as needed.  

Provide customer service, event support, and light facility maintenance.  

Minimum Qualifications:  

Minimum Age: 18  

Experience: At least 6 months of experience as a lifeguard.  

Preferred Certification: American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification.  

 

WORKING CONDITIONS  

Outdoor environment with exposure to sun, wind, and pool chemicals.  

Variable hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.  

Ability to work in loud or quiet environments depending on location.  

 

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED  

Pool maintenance equipment, hand tools, and cleaning supplies.  

Radios and phones for communication.  

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

Frequent swimming, walking, sitting, and lifting.  

Regularly lift/move 25 lbs, occasionally over 100 lbs.  

Prolonged standing, climbing, and reaching.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is now actively recruiting for a Clinical Supervisor I or II for the School Based Services Program within the Child & Family Clinic. The Clinical Supervisor I/II position will report to the Clinical Program Manager and will supervise Clinical Therapists.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Collaborate with Program Manager to provide appropriate staff placement based on the clinical needs of the patients and ensure delivery of quality patient care; monitor, maintain, and adjust staffing levels according to unit productivity and staffing goals; participate in data collection for unit based on quality assurance indicators

 

• Provide guidance to subordinates on Agency philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures through casework conferences, staff meetings, and work review; assist and participate in the development and coordination of in-service training and staff development programs.

 

• Coordinate, supervise, and direct the clinical, operational and program activities, inclusive of unit personnel, on a day-to-day basis to meet unit objectives.

 

• Provide direct services to clients under appropriate scope of practice.

 

• Make or review decisions on difficult client assessment and casework matters; supervise the timely and accurate submission of activity logs of assigned staff; and review caseload and task/needs reports for accuracy and timely changes.

 

•  Analyze existing caseloads and forecast resource needs.

THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael, Child Care Division is accepting applications for Child Care Aide to work in our School-Age Program.  We are looking for people who are available Monday thru Friday from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.  This is a great part-time position for someone who attends school in the morning.  No weekend work required!

• Assist Director and Instructors in planning and implementing activities.

The Greater Vallejo Recreation District is a Special Service District that has been serving area residents for over sixty years. Season Dates: Saturdays only, January 20 – March 14 (no games Feb. 14)
Shifts: 6 hours (8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
Pay: $16.50 – $24.50/hour (depending on experience and role)

• Help set up and take down basketball equipment

• Be a positive role model for young athletes
