This position assists community center staff in various areas, such as receiving, handling, and delivering catered meals to specific sites or homebound residents. This position is temporary, non-benefited and not-to-exceed 19 hours per week.

Equivalent to completion of high school and twelve (12) months of experience in meal preparation, delivery services, or working with adults of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

When driving on City business, maintenance of a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required. Must report changes in status of drivers license.

The San José - Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF) is one of the largest advanced wastewater treatment facilities in the nation and treats water from homes and businesses in the cities of San José, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, and unincorporated areas within Santa Clara County. Position Duties

The Environmental Services Department is currently seeking to fill multiple full-time Wastewater Operator I/II/III vacancies at the San José - Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF).

Job Classification Overview - Wastewater Operator I/II/III

Under general supervision, performs a variety of work of routine difficulty involved in operation of the San José/Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. 

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Inspects, operates, adjusts and maintains equipment in one or more areas of the wastewater treatment plant sections.
• Operates pumps, valves, motors, blowers, internal combustion engines, vehicles, and other related wastewater treatment process equipment.
• Reads and interprets SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system, gauges, dials and other process instruments; recognizes and diagnoses alarms and other warning indicators and makes necessary process and equipment adjustments to maintain process integrity.
• Maintains records of instrument readings and performs process computations and graphing as required.
• Performs routine laboratory tests used in sewage treatment process; takes samples and performs various simple tests for process control.
• Removes solids, pollutants, and harmful bacteria from wastewater to make it less objectionable and more stable.
• Reviews and provides improvements to wastewater facility SOP and processes.
• Accurately completes work orders for use in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Other duties as assigned.

Assignments may be made to any shift in an around-the-clock operation, and incumbents must also be available for work on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Successful completion of high school, General Educational Development (G.E.D.) Certificate, or California Proficiency Certificate.

Experience: One (1) year experience as a Wastewater Operator Trainee with the City of San José or one (1) year experience at a Wastewater treatment facility with similar processes.

Certifications: Possession of a valid California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Operator Grade I or higher Certificate.

Required Licensing: Possession of a valid State of California Class C driver's license.

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and completion of 60 college semester or 90 quarter units in business administration, public administration, criminal justice or a related field; may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis for education; and five (5) years increasingly responsible experience in a public safety communications center, one of which must have been at the supervisory level or administrative capacity and two years of experience directly related to emergency dispatching.

Other requirements include:
Must be able to pass a psychiatric evaluation and P.O.S.T Dispatcher background investigation. Must be willing to work evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts. An Emergency Medical Dispatcher, P.O.S.T. Dispatcher, Civilian Supervisor, Instructor Certificate, or completion of training required for one or more of these certificates is desirable. The Department

The Community Services Department plays a key role in enhancing the community and ensuring the citizens of Fremont receive excellent customer service through the management of recreation facilities, quality recreation and environmental programs, and park planning.

The Position

The primary focus of the Park Ranger/Naturalist is to enhance park safety and visitor experience through consistent patrol, community engagement, and responsive customer service. Additionally, the incumbent may conduct natural resource protection and environmental education programs.

Receives supervision from the Chief Innovation and Technology Officer. Incumbents of this class do not routinely exercise supervision.

Senior Systems Security Analyst

Receives general direction from the Chief Innovation and Technology Officer. Exercises technical and functional supervision over professional and technical personnel for assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(include but are not limited to the following)

• Architect, implement, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot various security systems that protect the City’s networks, IT/OT systems (including SCADA), applications and critical infrastructure.
• Design, organize, modify, install, secure and support security infrastructure; and provide technical support for network and security issues associated with enterprise applications.
• Analyze both raw and processed security alerts, logs and event data to identify potential security incidents, threats, mitigations, and vulnerabilities.
• Architect, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot the City’s business continuity plan and emergency response plan as it relates to redundant, secure infrastructure.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, and intermittently climbing stairs and/or ladders to rooftops and walking rooftops perimeter in the performance of daily activities. The Housing Authority is seeking an exceptional, team-oriented candidate to oversee projects and initiatives in support of the Alameda Housing Authority (AHA)’s affordable housing development and neighborhood revitalization programs in the City. This may include new construction development, acquisition and rehabilitation of properties, and development for projects for AHA’s nonprofit development affiliate, Island City Development. AHA’s pipeline of multifamily projects includes serving family, homeless, workforce, and senior populations and managing major renovation of occupied properties within AHA’s portfolio. The Senior Project Manager will also manage a wide range of consultant relationships and may supervise one or more junior staff.

AHA is particularly interested in applications from candidates with a strong track record in successful management of affordable real estate development and housing new construction, and familiarity with various related federal, state, and local regulations. Desirable candidates will be knowledgeable about zoning and environmental regulations

The Department:

This role is essential to centralizing the department’s communication efforts and ensuring that both internal and public-facing messages are strategic, consistent, and impactful.
 
The Communications Coordinator will be housed in the Technology and Communications Team and will be supervised by the Assistant Director. The Communications Coordinator will work across all divisions and will not only help streamline communications related to key initiatives and projects but also serve as an internal consultant, helping staff develop clear, effective messaging across all channels. This will enable the department to better meet increasing demands from the City Manager’s Office for improved web content, newsletters, and outreach efforts, while also promoting the department’s key initiatives and projects to a broader audience.

Under general direction, the Communications Coordinator coordinates and maintains content on the Department's website and intranet; implements and supports internal and external communication efforts; and coordinates social media and video communication activities. Incumbents may function as a supervisor, or an individual contributor, depending on the department or assignment.

The annual salary range for this position is $113,920.32 – $145,705.32. This position may be filled at or near the minimum of the salary range. 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education Requirements: 

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, or closely related field.

None.

Acceptable Substitution: 

Additional full time professional experience in public relations, public information, or other related experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis up to two years with one year full time experience being equal to 30 semester (45 quarter) units of college.

Desirable Qualifications: 

• Experience working in the public sector communications, press releases, social media platforms, website and graphic design, and analytics research is desirable.

• Experience in managing and implementing creative promotions and projects is desirable.

Other Requirements:  

• May be required to work odd and unusual hours in the performance of duties and during emergency situations.

• Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job assignment.

THE POSITION

Under general direction of the Water Resources Division Manager, this position serves as the Chief Plant Operator of the City’s Water Reclamation Plant (wastewater treatment). The selected candidate will plan, organize, direct and manage the operation of the Water Reclamation Plant including wastewater treatment and recycled water production. They will coordinate activities with other sections/divisions/departments, external customers, regional wastewater agencies, and contractors. This position will ensure that all regulatory compliance targets are met and act as a liaison to regulatory agencies.
