The City of Menlo Park is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Analyst for the Public Works Department. Under general direction, the Regulatory Compliance Analyst coordinates and oversees the planning, development, and implementation of regulatory programs within the Public Works Department. The role involves organizing, investigating, developing, directing, and managing the activities of regulatory programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to engineering and related fields. The Regulatory Compliance Analyst will maintain a thorough understanding of the laws and regulations set forth by various federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Additionally, this specialist will inspect properties, facilities, operations, and construction activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

About the Department

The Public Works Department consists of approximately 72 full time employees and is responsible for maintaining and improving the City’s streets, parks, water and stormwater systems, traffic signals, fleet, and public buildings.  Public Works provides many of the basic services affecting the daily lives of everyone living, working, visiting, and commuting within the City, including:  

• 26 City-owned buildings/facilities and their grounds
• A fleet of over 250 vehicles and pieces of equipment
• 97 miles of streets
• Drinking water delivery for 16,000 customers
• Flood protection and stormwater management programs particularly along the San Francisco Bay, San Francisquito Creek and Atherton Channel
• 14 parks, 2 open spaces, 14 playgrounds, 2 dog parks, 9 sports fields, and 14 tennis/pickleball courts
• Efforts to preserve and expand the urban canopy, including 20,000 public trees
• Multimodal transportation services including 42 traffic signals, safe routes to schools and citywide shuttle programs. 

The department has nearly a $40 million operating budget supported by over 25 different special/dedicated funding sources for the varied programs and services provided to the community. In addition, the City has an approximate $100 million capital improvement program, in part due to a successful track record in pursuing grants from a variety of local, state and federal sources. Some of the exciting efforts on the horizon include efforts to protect the San Francisco Bay shoreline and adjacent community from sea level rise; efforts to eliminate the City’s reliance on fossil fuels through building and fleet electrification; making investments in transportation safety through strategic quick-build projects and large infrastructure changes like a pedestrian/bicycle undercrossing at Caltrain; and ensuring the equitable delivery of services throughout the entire city in alignment with the goals and programs developed as part of the city’s first environmental justice element underway.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City is recruiting a Deputy Fire Chief. This position performs responsible management, technical, personnel, budget and administrative work. Typical duties will include planning, directing, supervising and participating in the activities of one or more major divisions in the Fire Department. Under the direction of the Fire Chief, this position will directly supervise all Battalion Chiefs, Fire Marshal, Emergency Preparedness Outreach Coordinator and fire prevention personnel including sworn and non-sworn professional, technical and support personnel. The Deputy Chief may represent the San Carlos Fire Department as the primary liaison, under direction of the Fire Chief. THE POSITION

• Instructs and supervises children; facilitates and leads classroom activities.
• Assists with the establishment of the program budget; tracks expenditures and administers budget.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities.  A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skill and ability outlined  in the job spec is:  

• Completion of 15 units in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related coursework, AND 
• At least three (3) years of teaching experience in a child care center or comparable group child care program.
• An Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related field may substitute for one year of experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related field may substitute for two years of experience. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates must meet all qualifications in accordance with current legal and regulatory requirements for working with children in the age group in their program.
• Must be willing to work the hours (work schedule) required for the assigned Center.
• Prefer possession of a valid California Driver's license.

ABOUT THE POSITION
City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a full-time Senior Maintenance Worker position assigned to the Wastewater section within the Utilities Department, Operations Division. 
Wastewater section personnel are responsible for the wastewater collection system including inspecting, cleaning, maintaining, constructing, and repairing sanitary sewer lines and lift stations. Under direct supervision of the Operations Services Supervisor, this position performs and supervises maintenance work within the Wastewater section and acts for the supervisor in his/her absence or direction. 
The selected professional will develop leadership skills by supervising team members in the field while performing tasks such as sewer repairs, line cleaning, and closed-circuit television inspections. The South San Francisco Public Works Department is comprised of its three main divisions - Engineering, Maintenance & Operations, and the Water Quality Control Plant. Located adjacent to San Francisco Bay on Colma Creek, the Water Quality Control Plant (WQCP) provides secondary wastewater treatment for the cities of South San Francisco, San Bruno, and Colma. • Reviewing and responding to Request for Information memos (RFIs) and submittals, negotiates change orders and reviews pay applications. 
• Supervising the collection and analysis of field data and prepares recommendations
