ABOUT THE POSITION
If you are passionate about ensuring quality and safety in engineering projects and want to make a real difference in the community, we have an excellent opportunity for you. The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting a full-time Engineering Technician/Inspector at level I or II or III (depending on experience and qualifications) for the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. The position will support the engineering staff with technical tasks for public works improvements, public works projects, and land development projects, and will entail a mix of technician and inspection duties. The goal of the Engineering Division is to promote a better quality of life for those who live, work, and visit the city of Gilroy through the provision of efficient engineering services and the creation of orderly growth and development within the city.

EXAMPLES OF ONGOING PROJECTS

• Provide inspection support to various Capital Improvement Projects, to include water and wastewater projects. 
• Coordinate inspection efforts with consultants and outside agencies.
• Process and review various public works permits.
• Administer the Sidewalk Repair Program.

NOTE: To foster teamwork and collaboration in the department, organization-wide, and in the community, this full-time position works on-site/in-person. Remote work is not an available option.

The Position: 

SVP is seeking Journey Line workers that have the ability to perform routine and emergency work maintaining and expanding SVP’s electric transmission and distribution system, including but not limited to: 
- Perform electrical installation and repair work and to construct and maintain overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission system; 
- Think and act appropriately and quickly in emergencies;

- Work from electrical plans and detailed drawings; 
- Input data using computer programs for documenting electric facility maintenance and inspection findings;

Established in 1866, the San Francisco Fire Department is rich in tradition and history. Today, the San Francisco Fire Department serves an estimated 1.5 million people, providing fire suppression, fire prevention and emergency medical services to the residents, visitors and workers within San Francisco's 49 square miles.

Under general supervision, an H002 Firefighter engages in firefighting and related activities for the saving of life and property; administers first responder treatment, including first aid; and responds to a variety of emergency situations involving public safety and medical care. A Firefighter also may be assigned duties in connection with fire prevention activities, including the inspection of businesses, schools, and homes to ensure fire safety; maintaining station quarters; and performing other duties as assigned. Firefighters are required to work 24-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. During those shifts, a Firefighter lives and works in close quarters with three or more individuals at a fire station. The FCTC Written Test was developed by the California Firefighter Joint Apprenticeship

The FCTC Written Exam is a 100 question, multiple choice test consisting of the following four

sections:

• Section 1 – Recall and Comprehend Verbal and Visual Information. This section requires candidates to watch two short videos and answer questions based on the scenarios presented.
• Section 2 – Apply Mechanical Reasoning
• Section 3 – Solve Mathematical Problems
• Section 4 – Recall and Comprehend Technical Information from Written Materials

The FCTC Written Test is administered, at minimum, quarterly. Additional tests will be added as needed, so check this website frequently. FCTC does not administer online tests.

The Assistant Civil Engineer is an entry-level class in the Civil Engineer series. This class is distinguished from the Associate Civil Engineer by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the Civil Engineer series. Incumbents perform less complex office and field engineering work and assignments are generally routine or closely related within a framework of established procedures. The Assistant Civil Engineer receives general supervision from higher level professional engineers and may exercise technical or functional supervision over technical engineering staff. The Assistant Civil Engineer position does not require registration as a civil engineer or professional engineer.  This position will have a focus in development review but will also participate in Capital Project delivery.

The Process Control Technician performs a variety of technical and professional engineering duties related to the design, installation, set-up, programming, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware, software and instrumentation associated with the District’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

They support Operations and Maintenance by troubleshooting, researching, designing, purchasing, and installing field instrumentation, programmable logic controller (PLC), operator interface terminals (OIT), variable speed drives, electrical systems, and other appurtenances. The Process Control Technician provides PLC and OIT programming and installation support making programming changes as required for the efficient operation of new and existing District facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Account Clerk I level: Methods, principles, and terminology used in financial clerical work; and modern office practices.

San Mateo County Health is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Public Health Clinics Strategic Projects Manager. This management position will report to the Public Health Clinics Manager, overseeing Edison Clinics and Mobile Clinics and will have broad project management responsibility for key strategic efforts affecting the Public Health clinics.

• Process improvement:  facilitate, document, track, organize, measure progress; e.g., conduct improvement work within daily huddles.
• Project management:  lead projects and provide ad hoc support of projects.
• Knowledge management:  inventory and maintain infrastructure of core programmatic documents and processes, how files are stored and shared.
• Partnership building:  support internal staff operational needs; coordinate with other stakeholders, such as staff from Behavioral Health & Recovery Services, Human Services Agency, Health IT, San Mateo Medical Center, grant makers, state agencies, etc.
• Management of administrative staffing:  supervise intermittent interns and volunteers.
• Contract and MOU support:  assist Clinics Manager to write scopes of work, produce required reports and invoices for categorical funding and operational agreements.
• Revenue optimization support:  oversee billing quality assurance and improvement, facilitate braided funding opportunities and oversight.
• Policy and procedures facilitation:  maintain inventory and lead update processes through completion, including occasional initial literature reviews or research and coordination of stakeholders.
• Change management and leadership synchronization:  coordinate staff engagement, training, feedback to ensure successful system changes, take meeting minutes, contribute to agendas, track on-going project work in support of meeting goals.

Ideal candidate will possess:  

• Experience with project management and process improvement as the lead.
• Knowledge and/or experience with:  County of San Mateo; health; people experiencing homelessness; HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
• Data skills including: requirements gathering; ad hoc report building; data and dashboard management.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with information technology systems including:  Power Business Intelligence (BI); advanced Excel; eClinical Works (eCW); ARIES; Microsoft SharePoint; Epic; Workday reporting.
• Experience with change management, leadership development, and team culture-building.

Education and Experience: 
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
 

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, or a related field. At least one year of professional administrative experience is typically required at the Associate Management Analyst level, and at least 3 years for the Management Analyst level.

Licenses and Certifications: 

• Depending upon assignment, possession of a valid California Driver's License.

The examination process will consist of an application screening (weight:  pass/fail) based on the candidates' application and responses to the supplemental questions.
