Under general supervision, Maintenance Assistants perform unskilled/semi-skilled labor and maintenance work. This recruitment is to fill a vacancy in our Wastewater Treatment Plant Division. If selected for our Wastewater Division, you will be working with our Collections division where they focus on conveying wastewater to the treatment plant by cleaning, inspecting, repairing, and other pipeline maintenance tasks.

BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform a variety of unskilled/semi-skilled maintenance or custodial duties involving manual labor of facilities.
• Clean and inspect sewer facilities for vandalism or potential hazards.
• Sanitize surfaces, repair minor plumbing problems, diagnose basic sewer issues, replace components on fixtures.
• Maintain area(s) as assigned including pump stations of treatment plant, performing basic repairs, inspections and landscaping.
• Load and unload supplies and materials.
• Safely assist with various heavy pipe lines, cleaning equipment, and maintenance operations.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The City of San Rafael Library and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for the position of Facilities Attendant (Athletic Fields).    This position is responsible for supervision of athletic fields during assigned work hours while providing a positive and welcoming presence at the park.  The Facilities Attendant serves as an ambassador to park visitors, ensuring renters have access to their permitted spaces, unlocking soccer goals as needed, and promoting responsible use of the facility.  The Facilities Attendant also positively enforces park and field rules, encourages users to clean up after themselves, and helps to maintain a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all.  Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

• Ability to provide good customer service 
• Ability to communicate effectively

Education:
