The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department invites you to apply for the casual position of Human Services Assistant at the Fair Oaks Community Center (FOCC). FOCC is a multi-service agency that offers a variety of programs and services provided by City staff and non-profit and public agency partners. This position provides a variety of administrative and operational support functions while also providing customer service to customers of all ages and backgrounds. In particular, the Human Services Assistant will support the Information and Referral/Emergency Services Program that provides vital safety net, homelessness intervention, and homelessness prevention services to low-income families, single parents, seniors, disabled persons, persons experiencing homelessness, and individuals seeking assistance in meeting their basic needs and strengthening their economic self-sufficiency.

This is a non-benefited, casual (temporary) position, scheduled to work flexibly, 10-20 hours per week.

After School & Youth Camps Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: After School & Youth Camps Attendants work behind the scenes making all Recreation and Community Services excel! This job entails assisting with planning and leading program activities, supervising youth in arts, crafts, games and sports, performing participant check-in, reception duties, and assisting with equipment set-up, take down and housekeeping, chaperoning participants on field trips, and opening and closing facilities. We’re looking for highly motivated people with a customer service orientation who genuinely enjoy helping others and who are flexible problem-solvers.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Executive Officer. There is one (1) vacant full-time position. This at-will position is appointed by the Executive Officer/Air Pollution Control Officer and serves a term of three (3) years which may be extended.  This position will be responsible for overseeing multiple functions either in Engineering & Compliance OR Science & Policy.

Under direction of the Executive Officer/Air Pollution Control Officer, the Deputy Executive Officer provides high-level technical, policy, and strategic direction in the management of the Air District's programs and activities.  

The Deputy Executive Officer of Engineering & Compliance oversees the following functions:

Engineering:

Engineering primarily reviews and processes new permit applications and renewals. There are about 10,000 facilities with about 26,000 devices and operations that have Air District permits. Engineering also processes, reviews, issues, and renews Title V (Major Facility Review) permits for about 79 facilities. In addition to processing permits, Engineering manages programs to assess and reduce risks from toxic air contaminants through implementation of: (1) Regulation 11, Rule 18, Reduction of Risk from Air Toxic Emissions at Existing Facilities, (2) the State Air Toxics Hot Spots Program, and (3) Regulation 2, Rule 5, New Source Review of Toxic Air Contaminants. Engineering provides technical support to rule development, emissions inventory, compliance and enforcement, planning, monitoring and measurement, and technology implementation programs as well as the Air District’s Regional Climate Action Plan.

Compliance & Enforcement:

Compliance and Enforcement ensures the Air District will achieve the emission reductions through the air quality regulations adopted by the Board of Directors, and permit conditions issued by the Executive Officer/APCO. Compliance with Air District, state, and federal regulations is achieved through a robust Compliance Assurance and Enforcement Program. The program includes comprehensive inspections and investigations and a complementary Compliance Assistance Program that supports compliance objectives by maintaining operations and assisting industry with air quality regulations and requirements.

Source Test

Source Test conducts analytical source tests and performance audits, reviews third party source tests, researches and develops new analytical source test procedures, and oversees refinery fence-line monitoring programs. These data are used to produce engineering studies to determine compliance status for specific source categories, determine whether to issue Permits to Operate, update the emissions inventory, determine actual abatement control effectiveness, provide data & technical assistance for Air District studies including AB 617, and develop applicable standards and produce emissions data for new or revised regulations.

The Deputy Executive Officer of Science & Policy oversees the following functions:

Assessment, Inventory & Modeling

Assessment, Inventory, and Modeling (AIM) prepares comprehensive inventories of air pollution emissions and conducts air quality modeling at both regional and community scales. AIM prepares technical assessments that evaluate equity in air pollution exposures and health impacts in support of Air District programs. AIM coordinates and implements programs to improve and report estimates of emissions of criteria pollutants, toxic air contaminants, and climate forcing pollutants. AIM assess emissions, concentrations, and exposures to toxic air contaminants, particulate matter, ozone, and their precursors, to support targeted strategies that reduce impacts of air pollution both regionally and within communities.

Planning & Climate Protection

Planning and Climate Protection prepares plans to meet state and federal air quality standards, leads and implements climate protection activities, and develops and implements local community emissions reduction plans per AB 617. Planning and Climate Protection advances local and regional environmental justice initiatives by providing support for General Plan Environmental Justice Element development and implementation (per SB 1000) centering equity in climate action planning and developing and delivering plan and policy resources such as model ordinances, technical resources, and best practices to accelerate action. Planning and Climate Protection supports local lead agencies, regional agencies, and others in applying the Air District CEQA thresholds and using guidelines to ensure plans and projects are protective of local health and reduce climate impacts.

Meteorology & Measurements

Meteorology and Measurements (M&M) provides emissions, air quality, and meteorological data chemical analysis and forecasting to support the enforcement, permitting, rule development, communications, and environmental justice programs of the Air District. In addition to operating monitoring instruments and conducting testing and analysis, M&M develops rigorous monitoring and testing plans, develops and maintains instruments and systems, conducts quality assurance and quality control, and analyzes and communicates data.

Rules & Strategic Policy

Rules and Strategic Policy is responsible for the development of regulations to implement Air District plans to attain federal and state air quality standards and to protect public health. In addition to the development of rules derived from planning documents, Rules and Strategic Policy assists with the preparation of air quality plans. Other measures are developed to further protect public health and safety and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. Rules and Strategic Policy reviews existing regulations and develop amendments to improve clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Public Health

Public Health leads the latest understanding of science regarding public health impacts of air pollution and provides support to the permitting, compliance, communication, rule development, and community engagement programs.

 

Examples of Duties for this Position

 

This appointed, at-will position is accountable for overseeing and establishing priorities and goals for the assigned functions and for furthering Air District goals and objectives in an effective manner; acts as the Executive Officer/Air Pollution Control Officer as assigned or delegated; and performs related work as assigned including but are not limited to:

The City of Auburn is hiring for the seasonal, part-time Bus Driver I position in the Auburn Transit Department.

Auburn Transit is looking for qualified individuals to join our transit team. These positions are seasonal, part-time and each has a maximum of 999 hours of work per fiscal year. The incumbent's schedule will be flexible, based on the needs of the department, community transit needs and employee availability.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Bus Driver I is an entry-level classification responsible for routine tasks and operation of specific transit vehicles. The role is performed under direct supervision from the Transportation Supervisor or designee and does not involve supervision over other staff.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Actual work may vary based on department needs or change due to evolving business practices.

• Operates a bus or other General Public Paratransit (GPPV) vehicles on City streets and highways in all weather conditions to transport passengers on established routes with designated stops, on-demand rideshare services, field trips and special events.
• Ensures passenger safety by observing passenger behavior, verifying safety belts are secured and rendering aid to passengers in an emergency.
• Assists passengers boarding and deboarding as needed or requested, including senior citizens, individuals with disabilities and care-dependent persons.
• Operates a smart device and two-radio to respond to transit dispatch and on-demand rideshare requests requiring adjustments to existing schedules and routes.
• Operates automatic wheelchair lifts, collects fares, issues passes, secures wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
• Promptly notifies management and completes reports regarding accidents and incidents involving vehicles and passengers.
• Conducts mandatory daily pre-trip vehicle inspections adhering to state and city regulations before each route, including reporting inspection results, daily trip logs, and required vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Performs minor maintenance, repair and cleaning of transit vehicles and fleet storage facility.
• Adheres to all public transit federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
• Maintains a valid California driver’s license and passenger certifications required by the state vehicle code, Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Transportation and other applicable standards.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

San Mateo County Health's Public Health, Policy and Planning Division has exciting field-based opportunities for well-qualified and motivated Nurse Practitioners to provide both primary and urgent care to adults from vulnerable populations within our community—people experiencing homelessness and/or in shelters, monolingual Spanish speakers and other new immigrants, and those without insurance or underinsured. These services are provided through various Mobile Clinic modalities and venues, including but not limited to street medicine, shelter medicine, and the mobile coach. We are looking for collaborative Nurse Practitioners to work in and lead various multidisciplinary service teams in the field to provide comprehensive, low-threshold, client-centered care and engagement.

Teams are staffed by a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Psychiatrist, Medical Services Assistant, AOD Case Manager, and Patient Services Assistants. These teams work closely with our community partners from the Human Services Agency and community-based organizations who locate and identify clients needing medical and/or mental health services, as well as provide additional health, housing, and social services in the field.

Under general supervision, Nurse Practitioners provide urgent care and primary health care services such as physical examinations, chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes and hypertension), and referrals/linkages to specialty clinics as appropriate.

Currently, Public Health Clinics has one full-time, regular, 40-hour-per-week vacancy for a bilingual Spanish Nurse Practitioner and two 40-hour-per-week, Limited-Term Nurse Practitioner vacancies, requiring flexible schedules and field-based work at different locations. Sixty-five percent of the NP’s time will be in the field, with the remainder spent in the office documenting notes, placing orders, and coordinating with other staff as needed.

The ideal candidate has experience:

• In family practice addressing chronic disease management

• In the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections

• With the underserved population, including those who are homeless

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.

• Education: Completion of an advanced nursing degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), with emphasis in a Nurse Practitioner specialty area.

Position Duties

The Council District Offices 2, 6, and 10 are up for election this year. The incoming elected officials will be recruiting for positions. Employees in this classification are not members of the classified civil service and appointment would be on a contract “at-will” basis and is for a specified period of time to be determined by the appointing elected official and does not extend past the end of the elected official's term. THE POSITION

Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant, the Reserve Police Officer is a sworn position assigned to field operations to patrol for the prevention and detection of crime and enforcement of laws and regulations within the philosophy of community oriented policing.  Incumbents are normally expected to solve most work problems independently and to refer to supervisory personnel only those matters which involve policy decisions, technical questions and unusual problems at the entry level and make recommendations at the advanced level.

The San José City Council consists of ten Councilmembers elected by district and a Mayor elected at-large, each for four-year terms. Position Duties

The Council District Offices 2, 6, and 10 are up for election this year. The incoming elected officials will be recruiting for positions. The Council Policy and Legislative Advisor position will provide administrative, constituent services, and legislative support for an elected official. The position typically requires researching and responding to inquiries from residents; drafting written communications involving strategy, policies and/or procedures on behalf of the elected official; and serving as the representative of the elected official regarding certain functions. These duties require an employee with strong and effective organizational skills; ability to handle multiple assignments; excellent written and oral communications skills, and the ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with community members and neighborhood organizations, key stakeholders, and City staff.
 
Responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Leads initiatives within an assigned policy portfolio. Drives policy priorities through government and legislative process. Research best practices on assigned policy portfolio.
• Drafts resolutions, commendations, memos, and other materials on the City Council agenda.
• Prepares written memoranda and reports which articulate the elected official’s proposals, priorities, and positions on matters pending before the City Council or other governmental agencies. 
• Provides communication support such as drafting correspondence, memoranda, or reports for routine to complex matters related to neighborhood or community concerns, pending issues before the City Council or another governmental body; state or federal legislation; or other matters. 
• Assists in preparation of speeches and talking points for the Councilmember.
• Develops and maintains positive working relationships with council offices, community organizations, residents, business community, non-profit organizations, and government agencies as they are key partners on policy and as a representative of the Councilmember's Office.
• Coordinates arrangements for meetings, programs, or other civic functions on behalf of the Councilmember.
• Attends meetings and community events with the Councilmember, requires availability on evenings and weekends.
• Analyzes a wide variety of materials on assigned projects, programs, and topics.
• Responds to constituent inquiries and issues, resolving complaints, and interpreting operating policies for residents of the community and other interested parties.
• Attends and represents the Councilmember at City-related meetings and activities, meeting with governmental agencies, private industry, and related meetings.

Employees in this classification are not members of the classified civil service and appointment would be on a contract “at-will” basis and is for a specified period of time to be determined by the appointing elected official and does not extend past the end of the elected official's term. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed, including frequent evenings and weekends and as exempt management employees, are not eligible for overtime compensation. The Bilingual Spanish Psychiatric Social Worker / Marriage and Family Therapists will provide specialized psychiatric assessment, brief treatment, and clinical case management services for adult clients with Severe Mental Illness. Principal duties will include mental health and substance use assessment and treatment; engaging clients to services; consultation with providers; and linkage/referrals to other community providers. The main role of this position will be working within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team to provide specialized psychiatric casework and care coordination, provide individual and group psychotherapy, case management, and refer clients to Private Provider Network and/or community agencies for additional services.

 

The primary duties will include care coordination for a clinical case load, mental health assessments; treatment planning, case management; crisis management; individual psychotherapy; and collaborating with multidisciplinary team which includes psychiatrist, registered nurses, PSW SW and LMFT, and Case managers. Clinician will also perform “Officer of the Day” duties.

 

Collaboration and coordination of services with other providers is an essential piece of the services to be provided, therefore candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills. The clinician may consult and collaborate with other teams in BHRS and community agencies and contract providers.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Senior GIS Technician in the Community Development & Services Agency. This position provides lead direction and technical assistance to assigned staff and/or project management; performs a variety of technical office and field work duties that require specialized knowledge related to the creation and maintenance of maps, tables, graphs, and other geographic source data with the use of enterprise GIS, permitting, and asset management systems; provides technical support and queried data to department staff, other County departments, outside agencies, consultants, contractors, developers, and the public; and performs related work as assigned.

This position is the advanced journey lead/specialist level position that reports directly to the Public Works Director.

Examples of Duties:

• Provide direction and guidance as a lead worker regarding data collection and GIS utilization; may review the work of technical staff assigned to a variety of GIS duties; assist supervisor with training program and identifying training needs; provide staff training in the use of and applications of GIS information.  
• Perform accurate and timely updates to County GIS s files and data management records related to streets, sewer, water, and storm systems, asset inventory, plats, parcels, right-of-ways, easements, and data layers.
• Perform quality control checks to integrity of GIS data and applications; review and resolve conflicts in data; evaluate currency, usefulness, and completeness of data.
• Create, compose, modify, and edit GIS spatial and attribute data, export data for a variety of special projects.
• Produce maps, tables, and graphs for internal and external use; determine and execute the appropriate sequence of data processing tasks; use established GIS and permitting systems to query data and produce documents.
• Update and maintain GIS databases according to department’s policies and procedures; clean up data and make corrections in response to changes and additional data sets integrated into GIS.
