Join us at a pivotal moment as the next Maintenance Workers —an opportunity to make a lasting impact within a collaborative, community-focused environment.  The City has a total of three (3) Maintenance Worker I/II vacancies in the Public Works and Community Services Departments.

About the Roles

The duties of the Maintenance Workers include, but are not limited to,

• Inspects and/or repairs equipment at frequent intervals to ensure that all aspects of the equipment are safe and functioning safely.

• Maintains a variety of records relating to inspections, maintenance activity, materials supply, consumption, etc.
• Determines and marks the locations of system wirings and stormwater and water lines from the appropriate sources prior to excavation.
• Responds to complaints regarding functional areas; evaluates situation; explains findings to supervisor. Functional areas for Public Works include street conditions, street signs, storm water system problems, traffic signals and street lighting.  Functional areas for Community Services include tree conditions, ball field conditions, irrigation system problems, park, building and ball field lighting.
• Ensures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking equipment and tools after use.
• Safely operates vehicles of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, and other job functions. For Public Works, this includes gravel, sand, concrete, asphalt and base rock.  For Community Services, this includes soil and sand and performing tree work.
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor; cleans equipment.
• Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
• Performs required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew.  For Public Works, this includes pavement cutting, ditch digging, manhole and line cleaning, main and pipe repair, laying pipe, trenching and backfilling.  For Community Services, this includes laying pipe, trenching and backfilling, maintaining ball fields including original layouts such as installation and leveling of surfaces; base positioning and installation; and layout of all field markings.

• Performs other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications

Maintenance Worker I:
Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent.

Maintenance Worker II:
Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent, and a minimum of two (2) years street, stormwater or parks maintenance work experience.

Valid California driver’s license. Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class "B" Commercial Drivers license by completion of probationary period.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is currently $67,660 to $95,526. These are represented positions.

Note:

• Remote work is not available for these positions.
• Later this year the standard work week will transition to four (4) nine (9) hour days for a full-time schedule of 36 hours per week with no impact on annual salary.

The Town of San Anselmo is seeking a motivated Administrative / Permit Services Technician to support the Community Development Department. This mid-level classification performs a wide range of technical and administrative duties with a high degree of independence, primarily in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

This hands-on position serves as a primary point of contact at the public counter and requires significant daily interaction with residents, contractors, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include accepting, reviewing, and tracking building and land development applications; calculating and collecting fees; issuing minor permits; performing data entry and maintaining permit tracking systems; coordinating the distribution of legal notices; maintaining files and records; preparing reports; and supporting website updates.

Principal Planner

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Principal Planner to join the Community Development Department.  Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Community Development or Planning Officer, the Planning Division is organized into teams which are overseen by Principal Planners who plan, direct, perform and supervise a variety of complex technical planning activities, and related work as required, relative to the assigned area of responsibility.

• The Current Planning Team reviews and acts or makes recommendations on planning applications and performs reviews of building permit applications and business licenses for zoning compliance. 
• The Administrative Support Team supports the Planning Officer and all Planners for the City. This position may act as the Zoning Administrator, overseeing regulatory processes and issues related to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and other regulatory compliance and requirements, process improvements, training needs, coordination with area governments and other administrative and supervisory functions. 
• The Policy Planning Team works on study issues, new area plans, and General Plan updates, conducting intergovernmental reviews of other agencies' proposals and pending legislation.

The department is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Senior Power Resources Specialist position to support the Power Resources Division. This role reports to a Principal Power Resources Specialist and is part of a dynamic, fast-paced team responsible for procuring hundreds of megawatts of renewable energy projects, playing a key role in advancing the City’s clean energy goals.

The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of California energy markets and experience working with a variety of market participants, including renewable energy and storage developers, large energy trading firms, independent power producers, investor owned and municipal utilities, and CCAs. Four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the field of recreation, arts, and/or community services, including prior experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
