WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Executive Assistant/Deputy District Clerk will be required to attend evening Board/Committee meetings. Meetings may be held in Los Altos or offsite.  This position is part of the General Manager’s office at Midpen’s office in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work environment for this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by two (2) years of college-level coursework in business or secretarial science and
• Three (3) years of responsible secretarial experience involving assisting executive management or a high-level officials with administrative duties.
• Experience in a City or Special District Clerk’s Office is highly desirable.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

Certified Municipal Clerk designation is desirable.

Position Summary

Under general direction of the Director of Budget and Financial Analysis and the Auditor-Controller, leads Agency budget process and participates in complex, sensitive, and detailed analytical work in the areas of budgets, finances, program operation and economic, regulatory and administrative policy. Essential Responsibilities

• Leads Budget Team in the annual budget process and takes a lead role in performing annual long-term financial projection
• Performs a wide variety of complex financial analysis, including financial forecasting, revenue projection, revenue analysis, modeling and cost/benefit analysis
• Performs and leads special studies for the District as well as coordinates assigned activities with other District departments, divisions, and outside agencies

Under the general supervision of the Youth Program Coordinator, Youth Services staff is responsible for supervision and safety within the bi-monthly Kids’ Night Out and Kids Day Out Program, including implementing a variety of crafts, games and activities for youth ages 5 to 11.  As a Youth Services staff member, you will:

About the role:                                                                                    

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Manager – Special Events and Cultural Arts is responsible for leading the planning, production, and oversight of the City’s signature special events, while also supporting Redwood City’s cultural arts programming. This role oversees the full lifecycle of major community events, including concept development, budgeting, sponsorship coordination, vendor and performer booking, permitting, logistics, safety planning, marketing coordination, and on-site production. Signature events such as outdoor concert series, holiday celebrations, cultural festivals, movie nights, and destination activations require thoughtful coordination with Police, Fire, Public Works, Economic Development, and community partners. The Challenge

As a Police Officer your duties will typically include patrolling assigned areas; interacting with the public; conducting criminal investigations; enforcing laws; investigating collisions; preserving the peace and writing reports. You will be assigned to one of three shifts spanning the 24-hour day and these shifts will periodically change. In the Patrol Section you will work three 12 hour and 20-minute workdays and have four days off. If you are assigned to any other Section, you will work four 10-hour workdays with three days off.
