EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Responds to fire alarms, emergency medical calls at the basic life support level, emergency rescues, hazardous materials incidents, public service calls or other incidents, which require the mitigation of circumstances that may threaten life or property.
• Drives and operates all fire equipment and locates the apparatus at the proper place at the scene.
• In a fire emergency, lays, connects, charges and uses supply lines and various water appliances to control and extinguish fires; places water curtains and performs ventilating and access maneuvers; uses foam and chemical extinguishers as required by the nature of the fire.
• Searches and rescues victims from buildings, motor vehicles, water hazards and other locations.
• Applies medical treatment and life support techniques within the scope of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); provides assistance to qualified paramedics, as directed; assists in the emergency transportation of patients.
• Contains, isolates, and minimizes hazardous materials spills.
• Works closely with other emergency medical staff, police and public safety and fire personnel from other agencies; responds to mutual aid situations as required.
• Participates in investigations, clean-up, salvage, and overhaul operations.
• Participates in the fire inspections of buildings and properties within the City on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Maintains apparatus and vehicles in a clean and operable condition; performs minor maintenance and repair on equipment; reports the need for major repair.
• Maintains the station and living quarters in a clean and orderly condition; performs minor maintenance on facilities and station equipment.
• Participates in drills and training sessions.
• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with the community; presents a variety of educational and public services programs to children, youth and community groups.
• Performs and coordinates specific program or project areas.
• Prepares reports; prepares and maintains logs, records, and accurate files.

The City of Brisbane is currently recruiting Police Officer candidates at the Academy Graduate and Lateral level. Police Officers are responsible for performing a wide variety of law enforcement duties involving the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, and the enforcement of laws and ordinances; control traffic flow and enforce state and local regulations; perform investigative work and other related police work assignments. The City of Patterson is recruiting for two (2) Firefighter EMT or Firefighter Paramedic positions.  This safety position will respond to fire alarms, emergency medical calls, traffic accidents, rescue, and other emergency calls to protect life and property.  This position will also participate in trainings, drills, study activities, and in the maintenance of the department apparatus, equipment, and facilities.  Under the supervision of the Fire Engineer or Fire Captain, provides first responder basic life support (EMT) or performs ALS (paramedic) care to patients of medical emergencies and other medical procedures. Procurement and Administrative Services Manager

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is seeking an exceptional, process-orientated professional to serve as the Procurement and Administrative Services Manager. This is a fast-paced agency that seeks to meet the mission through a high level of accountability and transparency.

AHA is seeking to fill the Asset Management Specialist position in the Property Operations Department. The Asset Management Specialist performs a variety of specialized technical work in support of the Housing Authority’s asset management and property operations functions. Conducts operational monitoring and asset management analysis by supporting portfolio performance tracking, capital project planning, compliance reporting, and financial review. Provides responsible and professional assistance to the department team, and performs related work as required.

Experience with LIHTC or HUD compliance, property management accounting and/or asset management, and Yardi software are desirable.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Gilroy is recruiting an undergraduate or graduate-level City Emergency Management College Summer Intern for the summer of 2026. This internship will provide a significant opportunity to gain experience and exposure and accumulate skills that are used daily in city government emergency management programs that make substantial impacts to the community. The Emergency Management Team works year-round to ensure that community is prepared for disasters through planning, training, outreach, and coordination with local and regional partners. The Department

The City of Pacifica's Public Works Department is recruiting for a Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time position with benefits and a compensation schedule range of $5246- $6519 per month. This position is included in a bargaining unit under Teamsters MISC Local No. 856.

DEFINITION

Under immediate and general supervision, classes in this three-level series provide a wide variety of responsible and complex administrative, secretarial and clerical duties for an assigned department and department head, to coordinate and participate in office functions in support of the department's goals and objectives; to provide information and assistance to employees and the public regarding departmental policies and procedures.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The emphasis of the Administrative Assistant series is on the accomplishment of general clerical and administrative support duties.

Administrative Assistant I

This is the entry level in the series. Employees perform routine duties under immediate supervision.

Administrative Assistant II

The is the journey level in the series. Employees perform both routine and more complex duties under general supervision.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
