The Marysville Police Department is recruiting for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher.

Overview: 

Valley Water seeks a collaborative, detailed-oriented and customer-service focused individual to join the Water Revenue team as a Management Analyst I. The incumbent will be public facing, engaging with water customers and well owners throughout Santa Clara County. As a member of the Water Revenue team, key responsibilities include generating and processing water bills; providing excellent customer service in person, by phone and via email; ensuring all data is processed and captured in an accurate and timely manner; and collaborating with colleagues. The work is cyclical with periods of high volume (annual, semi-annual, and monthly billing cycles) and technical by nature (i.e., unmetered water customers). Ability to navigate multiple systems in the course of daily work is necessary (i.e., databases, files, billing system, GIS resources); bilingual is a plus. Members of the Water Revenue team occasionally go offsite to perform field checks.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Customer service: provide exceptional internal and external customer service, in person, by phone, or via email. Engage with well owners, retailers, farmers, and other departments at Valley Water. 
• Revenue collection duties: generate and process bills that may include groundwater, treated water, surface water or recycled water. 
• Technical and detail-oriented: audit all water bills for accuracy. Support other analysts and supervisor as needed. The Water Revenue team manually reviews and audits nearly 6,300 bills each year of which about 80% are for unmetered water customers.
• Administrative tasks: filing, scanning, organizing records, and occasional cashiering duties.

Ideal Experience:

• Two (2) years of experience in revenue collection and customer service.
• Hands-on experience generating, reviewing, and reconciling bills (e.g., water, utilities, or municipal services) with attention to timelines and data integrity.
• Experience with maintaining large datasets, while ensuring accuracy across multiple systems.
• Public sector experience with water districts, utilities, or municipal agencies.

Ideal Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively during high-volume billing cycles with competing deadlines.
• Strong accuracy in data entry, billing calculations, and customer correspondence.
• Ability to understand current procedures and suggest enhancements to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Ability to navigate between billing software, databases, file management systems, and other internal applications in the regular course of daily work.
• Ability to handle customer inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and clarity (via phone or email, and in person). 
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Bilingual, especially Spanish speaking, is a plus.

Ideal Knowledge:

• Knowledge of financial or billing software.
• Understanding of basic accounting or revenue collection principles.

Ideal Training and Education:

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field. 

Substitution:

Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.

Required License or Certificate

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. SRFECC is preparing for a Dispatcher Academy, beginning September 2025! As a Dispatcher I, you will be a key player in the public safety network, managing both emergency and non-emergency calls. Your role involves receiving critical information, dispatching appropriate Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) resources, providing live-saving instructions, relaying facts, and ensuring effective communication throughout the incident. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals with no prior public safety dispatching experience. The City of Mill Valley welcomes applications for Public Works Supervisor - Parks.

Under general direction, the Public Works Supervisor assigned to the Parks Division provides leadership and direction in maintaining and enhancing the City’s parks, landscapes, and athletic fields. This position plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of a dedicated crew of seven (7) full-time Maintenance Workers who help keep the City’s outdoor spaces safe, beautiful, and sustainable.

The Supervisor oversees the daily and seasonal maintenance of high-quality athletic fields, irrigation systems, and park facilities, ensuring they meet the needs of both recreational users and organized sports programs. This includes planning and managing turf renovation, field preparation, irrigation repair and upgrades, and plumbing maintenance throughout the City’s parks and landscaped areas.

Serving as the City Arborist, this individual plays a vital role in caring for public trees and vegetation, working closely with the Fire Department, community groups, and other departments to implement the City’s tree maintenance and vegetation management programs.

Other key responsibilities include overseeing and maintaining the City’s gateway areas, medians, demonstration gardens, and other high-visibility landscape features; ensuring the effective operation of irrigation and drainage systems; and supporting the preservation and enhancement of the City’s cherished Steps, Lanes, and Paths network.

As a working supervisor, this position combines hands-on technical knowledge with strong leadership and team-building skills. The Project Manager I (PM1) is responsible for the surface level integration of the new CBTC system with SFMTA’s existing traffic signal infrastructure.  The work will include systems engineering to integrate various pieces of infrastructure to ensure compatible functionality (e.g. CBTC can communicate with traffic signal controller software and output the desired signal outcomes). The PM1 should possess expertise in traffic signal systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including but not limited to: signal timing parameters, traffic signal design, Transit Signal Priority (TSP), network communication protocols and devices, as well as familiarity with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the systems engineering architecture and standards established by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).  The candidate must also have prior experience overseeing the integration of ITS devices, such as TSP and emergency vehicle preemption, with the D4 traffic signal controller software.

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT DUTIES:

• Oversee internal staff and consultants to develop protocols and procedures to integrate CBTC technology with existing traffic signal infrastructure
• Develop calculations for traffic signal timing card changes to reduce transit travel times and improve transit reliability
• Provide direction to staff in the preparation of studies, calculations, designs, drawings, sketches, and plans for a variety of engineering projects using AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM and other software tools

How to qualify

1. Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering or planning plus four years of responsible architectural, engineering or construction management experience, OR
2. A Bachelor's Degree in another field plus six years of responsible experience in a field directly related to the project, OR
3. Eight years of architectural, engineering, or construction management experience in a field directly related to the project, OR
4. California registration as professional engineer or architect.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

The stated desirable qualifications may be used to identify candidates advancing to the interview process and/or to identify job finalist(s) at the end of the selection process when referred for hiring.

• Possession of a current Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California in both Civil and Traffic disciplines
