THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatrist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Clinic/Adult Full Service Partnership (FSP) Department. The Psychiatrist I/II will provide medical and psychiatric treatment and diagnostic services to clients in the caseload of Tri-City and provide collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team in a public mental health agency. Provide integrated, effective, and high-quality behavioral health care to the residents of Pomona, Claremont and La Verne with moderate to severe functional impairment due to mental illness.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Perform intake and diagnostic interviews on a scheduled and emergent basis.
   
• Participate in diagnostic staff evaluation of clients.
   
• Provide medical psychiatric treatment of clients.
   
• Maintain and disseminate medical records and reports in compliance with Federal, State and Agency regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, Public Law 111-005 (“HITECH Act”).
   
• Submit required statistical and other requested information on a timely basis.
   
• Consult and provide information to other agencies that are coordinating their work with that of the behavioral health service agency.
   
• May serve on Utilization Review Committee, Medication Review Committee, and chair Peer Review Committee as assigned.
   
• May conduct specialized research, special studies, and services.
   
• Provide medical consultative services to the behavioral health services staff; lead team conferences and provide clinical direction in unit(s) to which assigned.

The City of Patterson is currently recruiting to fill several part-time vacancies for Lifeguard with the Recreation & Community Services Department for their Summer program and to establish an Eligibility List.

Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and the Pool Managers, the Lifeguard will be responsible for the safety of the patrons at the Patterson Aquatics Center.  The Lifeguard must remain alert and knowledgeable as well as physically fit.  Duties include, but are not limited to: maintain the office, answer phones, maintain correspondence with the public and respond to all inquiries, be generally available to answer and refer patrons to resources within the community; teach swim lessons; enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations; recognize and respond effectively in emergencies; complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.  All Lifeguards are responsible for keeping the facilities clean and safe for all patrons.

This position is established for 19 hours a week, but will vary depending on programming needs, and will be working weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays.

The City also implemented a citywide GIS system, document imaging system, and Intranet, which are available to all staff members. The City of Newark is seeking an energetic and committed Associate Civil Engineer to perform professional civil engineering work related to the planning, review, design, construction, inspection, and coordination of a variety of public works projects. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Meet and confer with developers, contractors, engineers and the general public relative to city policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Attend Development Review Committee meetings on designated entitlement projects and present and coordinate Engineering issues with other City departments.
• Recommend and prepare conditions of approval for Planning entitlement projects.
• Review private and public development improvement plans and subdivision maps for compliance with state and local codes, regulations and standards, and compliance with the requirements of project approval.
• Review development encroachment permits, building permits, grading and sitework permits and other permit applications, including technical reports and documents such as hydrology and hydraulic reports, stormwater management reports, and geotechnical reports.
• Review legal property descriptions, ordinances, assessment plans and other written materials.

• Makes engineering calculations, completes design drawings, makes and revises maps, charts and diagrams.

• Assist Public Works Inspectors in resolving construction issues.

• Perform field inspections of various municipal construction projects, in progress and upon completion.

• Respond to applicants, contractors, consulting engineers regarding technical information and project related issues; assist and coordinate project resolutions with applicant’s team and City team.
• Coordinate projects with various agencies, such as Caltrans, Union Sanitary District (USD), Alameda County Water District (ACWD), and Alameda County Flood Control District (ACFCD)

• Perform work in accordance with local, State, and Federal standards and regulations

• Attend Alameda County Cleanwater Program committee meetings.

• Schedule and track progress of land development projects.

• Prepare staff reports, as well as presentations for City Council, and other legislative bodies; respond to the public and other inquiries orally and in writing.

• Develop Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and participate with other department staff in the selection of consulting engineers.

• Serve as Project Engineer on Public Works capital improvement projects and transportation engineering tasks as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field. 
• Three (3) years of civil engineering experience, including one year of lead responsibility. 
• Registered as a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
• Possession of a valid driver license and a satisfactory driving record throughout employment.

The Department: 

The Department of Public Works (DPW) constructs, maintains and improves various components of the City’s infrastructure and provides quality, cost-effective, timely services to the residents and businesses of Santa Clara. DPW is responsible for a wide variety of programs throughout the City which include implementation of solid waste and urban run-off pollution prevention programs, design, construction management, inspection and maintenance of City streets, bridges, storm drain systems, traffic signal systems, building facilities, fleet, street trees, landscaping and the closed landfill. The Mechanical Maintenance Position is in the Facilities Division of the Public Works Department.

The Position: 

The Mechanical Maintenance Worker is a journey level technical classification. This classification operates, lubricates, cleans, adjusts, and makes repairs to heating, ventilating, refrigeration, emergency generators, solar systems, and other stationary building equipment, and installs and troubleshoots electrical systems up to 480 volts. The Mechanical Maintenance Worker is distinguished from the Mechanical Maintenance Foreman/Forewoman in that the latter is a supervisory position responsible for supervising Mechanical Maintenance Workers and Utility Workers in the maintenance and repair of the mechanical equipment found in City buildings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Experience Requirements: 

Two (2) years of experience in the maintenance, operation, installation and troubleshooting of diesel and gas engines, centralized heating, ventilation, emergency generators and air conditioning units, related mechanical equipment and electrical systems (up to 480 volts) found in heavy duty machinery or large buildings, such as manufacturing plants, office buildings, or public buildings.

License/Certifications: 

• Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license is required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment.
• California State issued Forklift Certification by the end of the probationary period.
• HVAC/Refrigerant certification required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment.

Experience with building management systems, such as Direct Digital Control (DDC), Variable Air Volume (VAV), and other related electrical control systems is desirable.

A Dispatcher I is a civilian employee of the Police Department who performs a variety of tasks in the Department’s Support Services Division. The Dispatcher I receives incoming calls for police assistance and response; acts as a primary Dispatcher when appropriate; performs a variety of general support duties related to police communications; completes a wide variety of general clerical duties.

Examples of Duties:

The Dispatcher I duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Answer emergency and non-emergency police related phone calls, help prioritize requests for service based upon available resources, receive radio requests and handle accordingly, type, process and file a wide variety of reports and materials including memos, letters, complaints, declarations, warrants, citations, crime and traffic reports.  Assists Department personnel and the public in person and by phone performing record checks, collecting fees and mailing requested reports to outside agencies in accordance with established regulations.   A Dispatcher I may be assigned to work various hours, shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime.

Typical Qualifications:

A combination of education and work experience including 2-3 years of general office work involving typing of varied materials, public contact, general filing and basic record keeping; type at least 40 wpm net.  Knowledge of business English, spelling; modern office practices and procedures; record keeping. Ability to learn assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed routine; write English legibly; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; type and learn the operation of other standard office equipment; a willingness to work varying shifts; and to learn radio dispatching skills.

• Salary: $6,681 - $8,612 per month.
• Health/Medical Benefit: Choice of coverage with Kaiser or Blue Shield. The City pays 80% of monthly premiums at each coverage level. In lieu of medical coverage, the City will contribute $400 (employee only coverage) or $500 (employee + 1 coverage) or $600 (family coverage) into a MissionSquare 457 deferred compensation plan.
