The City of Newark is seeking dedicated professionals to be Public Safety Dispatchers and be members of a team providing excellent service to our community. ABOUT THE POSITION

Under close supervision, the Seasonal Operations Aide provides entry-level support to an assigned division of the Public Works Department. The Senior Lifeguard/Swim Instructor performs a variety of duties to ensure the City of Dixon swimming pool is a safe and enjoyable aquatic facility. The Santa Clara City Library is a department of the City of Santa Clara. The Santa Clara City Library operates three facilities, a virtual branch through a website, and a bookmobile. The Library provides a collection of virtual and physical books and resources, services and programs, public internet access, adult literacy and English as Second Language classes for the Santa Clara community. Services and programs are free and open to all.

The Position:

The Santa Clara City Library is seeking an enthusiastic and community-oriented Librarian with a strong public service commitment at the Mission Branch Library. This Librarian will provide library service, information, and programming for all ages, and may be responsible of the branch in-lieu of more senior staff. Constant contact and collaboration with patrons of all ages, including those with diverse backgrounds and abilities, are part of the daily duties of this position.  

This is a limited-term appointment of 30-40 hours/week for up to 6 months. As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.
