THE POSITION
The City of Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced Swim Team Coach for Campbell Wave Swim Team, ages 6-18 years old, at the Campbell Community Center. This position reports to the Aquatics Recreation Specialist. 

Salary Range: $17.00 to $25.00 per hour DOQ

Part-Time, Temporary Non-Benefited position

Schedule: Actual work schedule to be determined through mutual agreement with supervisor. Employee may be required to work weekends.

Location: Campbell Community Center, 1 West Campbell Avenue, Campbell

Responsibilities: 

• Swim team coordination with Aquatics Recreation Specialist;  
• Prepares and implements work-outs;
• Tracks and encourages team enrollment;
• Maintains various records;
• Organizes and attends swim meets;
• Evaluates stroke technique;
• Assists with budget preparation;
• Has thorough knowledge of emergency response protocol, risk management and emergency care
• Complies and enforces all City of Campbell and Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department policies and procedures.

In addition, the essential functions of employment include:

• Assistance in developing, organizing and supervising daily operations and practices;
• Assistance in evaluating Campbell Wave swim team program;
• Documentation including daily participant attendance;
• Planning, execution and evaluation of swim meet participation;
• Professional interaction and effective communication with children, swimmers and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum age at time of hire is 18 years old.
• Two (2) or more years of swim coaching experience
• Valid California Driver’s license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Safety Training for Swim Coaches or Lifeguard Training certification.
• TB Clearance.
• Fingerprint clearance (Department of Justice background check). The City of Campbell will schedule fingerprint appointment and encumber cost upon hire.

Highly desirable, but not mandatory upon hiring: 

• Professional certification(s), including American Swim Coaches’ Association or USA
• Swimming Coaching, CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches or Lifeguard Training.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting for multiple full-time Maintenance Worker I positions in our Water Section to help ensure every home, business, school, and park has access to clean and reliable water. From maintaining water lines to supporting emergency repairs, your work will directly impact the daily lives of our residents. For this recruitment, preference will be given to candidates who possess a State of CA D1 Water Distribution Certification, a Class A driver’s license, experience operating heavy equipment, and/or underground construction experience.

Although current vacancies are all in the Water section, this recruitment will also create an eligibility list for future openings in our other sections – Parks and Landscapes, and Streets/Stormwater & Drainage/Trees and the Wastewater Section. Interested candidates should apply and get on the eligibility list in the event an opening occurs in the future giving you the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths within public service. Eligibility lists are typically good for one year and may be extended for an additional year. 

The Water Section personnel are responsible for planning, operation, and maintenance of the City’s wells, and water distribution system ensuring a safe and reliable supply of drinking water. The duties also include managing booster pumps, reservoirs, routine system maintenance, water sampling and the monthly reading of all water meters. Additionally, they oversee the City of Gilroy’s Backflow Prevention Program to ensure compliance with California State regulations.

The Streets/Stormwater & Drainage/Trees Section personnel are responsible for maintaining and repairing the City's improved and unimproved streets, curbs and gutters, bikeways, public parking lots and parking lots at City facilities. Streets/Stormwater/Trees also cleans and maintains the storm drains throughout the City and provides 24-hour emergency tree response, neighborhood tree clearance pruning, removal and replacement of dead and unsound trees, planting trees in new subdivisions, as well as processing permits for citizens who want to plant, prune or remove a City tree. In addition, the team performs maintenance and repairs to the Cities stormwater infrastructure.

The Parks/Landscape Section personnel are responsible for planning and developing new parks, and landscaping within those parks. Responsibilities extend to maintaining landscaped areas, such as median islands in the downtown public right of way and throughout the City. The team also maintains and provides a weed abatement program around sound walls and around City owned facilities. Parks/Landscape maintains turf, irrigation, and park amenities such as, playgrounds, restrooms, an athletic complex and equipment throughout the park system and City facilities.Under direct supervision of supervisor, this position performs work in one of the sections as assigned: Water, Wastewater, Parks & Landscape, or Streets/Stormwater & Drainage/Trees. Employees in this job classification may rotate/transfer between the sections noted above as determined by the City and will be required to fully meet the job requirements, including the obtaining of certifications, when assigned to a specific for an extended period of time.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The goal of maintenance operations is to enhance the quality of life for those who live, work, and visit the City of Gilroy. This is achieved by maintaining and preserving the City’s infrastructure through reliable, high-quality services that support public health, safety, and sustainability. The Operations team is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of essential services and public assets in accordance with state and federal regulations and industry best practices.

 THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL

• Have knowledge and related experience in one or more areas of municipal maintenance: street maintenance, wastewater distribution system maintenance, tree maintenance, and maintenance of city parks and landscaped areas. Given that the current openings are in the Water Section, candidates with experience pertaining to the work performed by this section will be given the strongest preference. 
• Be customer service oriented with the ability to communicate clearly with members of the public. 
• Have strong record keeping skills with the ability to effectively document work completed in public works software. 
• Possess a clean driving record with a commitment to safe driving at all times. A Class A driver’s license at time of hire is preferred. 
• Have experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, dump trucks, backhoes, etc. 
• Have certifications and training in one or more areas of public works operations such as a Playground Inspection Certification, CWEA Water Collection System Grade I Certification, Qualified/Pesticide Applicator Certification, State CA Grade I Water Distribution and/or Water Treatment Certification, or other similar certifications. 
• Have knowledge and experience with work zone safety plans and set up. 
• Be safety oriented and have current knowledge of safety practices related to the work.

Water Section:

1. Perform general maintenance work on the water system, as well as repairs and replacement of water mains, water services, fire hydrants and water meters.
2. Perform building maintenance on water system facilities.
3. Take water quality samples per State of California regulations.
4. Read water meters.
5. May assist with backflow tests on City-owned backflow assemblies.
6. May assist with cross-connection surveys on City and private premises.

1. Perform landscape and ground maintenance around public buildings, recreation facilities, rights-of-way, and open areas.
2. Perform irrigation maintenance and repairs as necessary.
3. Remove garbage and litter from assigned facilities.
4. Clean and maintain park buildings and restrooms.
5. Assist in park development when required.
6. Perform or coordinate necessary plumbing, carpentry, painting, and related building maintenance and vandalism repair as assigned.
7. Work closely with the Recreation Division, other City departments, allied agencies, and the public to coordinate maintenance schedules with the use of assigned facilities.
8. Perform work in the support of the Recreation Division such as reservations, ball field preparation and clean-up, and special event preparation and clean up.
9. Take appropriate action, such as notifying a supervisor or appropriate authorities, when laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to public use of the parks and municipal facilities are not being followed.
10. May be assigned to work in different facilities throughout the City.
11. May coordinate requisition, procurement, and storage of janitorial supplies.
12. May perform support services during major functions that occur in City facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum twelfth (12th) grade education or G.E.D.
• One (1) year of construction, maintenance, or landscape experience. Prior work for a public agency or other similar service industry preferred, but not required.
• Possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License and a safe driving record necessary to operate assigned vehicle(s).
• Possess and maintain a valid California Class A Driver License within 12 months of hire/transfer. May be required to obtain endorsements. Must participate in the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Testing program, which includes submission to random drug and alcohol testing at such time the employee possesses a commercial license permit or a commercial license.  
• When assigned to the Water Section, will be required to obtain a State of California Grade I Water Distribution Certification within twelve months of hire or transfer.
• When assigned to the Parks and Landscape Section, will be required to obtain a Qualified Applicators Certificate with any one Category within twelve months of hire or transfer.
• When assigned to the Street/ Wastewater/ Trees Section, must demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the following pieces of equipment within twelve months of hire or transfer: backhoe, paint truck, or Vactor. A training certificate may be required.
• Per the AFSCME MOU, due to stand-by and call out duties, employee assigned to the Water and Streets/Wastewater/Trees Sections must reside within sixty (60) minutes normal driving time of the City Corporation Yard prior to the completion of one year of work. Normal driving time is the most direct route, at the speed limit. Residency within the sixty (60) minute response must be maintained during the course of employment.
• May be subject to scheduled 7 day paid standby duty on a rotating basis.
• Subject to recall on a scheduled and/or emergency basis.
• Pass an employment background check which includes a Department of Justice criminal record check.
• Pass a post-offer medical examination, which includes a drug test.

STREET MAINTENANCE OPERATOR I/II

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under immediate supervision (Street Maintenance Operator I) or general supervision (Street Maintenance Operator II), performs semi-skilled to skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work assigned to the streets division; operates maintenance and construction tools and equipment; performs a variety of maintenance tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Street Maintenance Operator I: This is the entry level class in the Street Maintenance Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Street Maintenance Operator II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to workers in this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters related to established procedures and guidelines as are positions allocated to the II level. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or non directly related work experience. Employees work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks.

Street Maintenance Operator II: This is the full journey level class within the Street Maintenance Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Street Maintenance Operator I by the assignment of the full range of duties assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

1. Handle complaints and answer questions from the public.

About the Role

The Town of Los Altos Hills is seeking an experienced, motivated, and community-oriented Associate Planner to join our small but dynamic Planning team. Under the supervision of the Director, the Associate Planner will work on a wide variety of current and long-range planning efforts. This is a mid-level professional planning role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys managing projects with autonomy while serving a unique, rural-residential community.

The Associate Planner conducts research and analysis related to the Town’s General Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and other land use regulations. This position also plays a key role in community engagement and customer service, preparing reports and presenting to citizen committees, the Planning Commission, and the Town Council on projects of moderate to considerable complexity.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews and makes recommendations on development proposals, including site development permits, variances, conditional development permits, conditional use permits, and lot line adjustments.
• Prepares staff reports and recommendations for the Planning Commission, City Council, and Site Development hearings; attends meetings and delivers presentations as needed.
• Conducts field investigations to assist with project evaluation.

Summary

Under general supervision, the Marketing Assistant assists in the planning and organization of registration, marketing, publicity, and community outreach efforts in accordance with District policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Language Ability: Ability to communicate effectively in English in both written and oral form. Ability to write routine correspondence using correct spelling and grammar.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to use common sense and excerise good judgement in solving problems. Ability to establish effective relationships with fellow employees, volunteers and participants and parents/guardians.

The Yuba County Probation is currently recruiting for the position of Deputy Probation Officer I/II.  Under general supervision, Deputy Probation Officers perform a variety of professional adult and juvenile probation duties related to case management, field monitoring and investigation, probation supervision, mediation, intake and other programs; coordinates probation activities with those of the Superior Court; ensures compliance with court ordered probation conditions through counseling; coordinates community resources to assist probationers to successfully complete the terms of probation; and performs related work as required. This classification is a flexibly staffed position in the protective services category in the professional Probation Officer series. About Yuba County Probation Services:

The principal mandated tasks accomplished by Adult and Juvenile Probation Services are the preparation of investigative reports and sentencing recommendations for the Courts on criminal, diversion and probation actions, and the supervision of adult and at risk youth granted formal probation. Probation Officers also supervise clients released on Post Release Community Supervision and pursuant to Section 1170(h) of the Penal Code. Probation manages a variety of specialized adult and youth program elements. The Public Works Maintenance Worker I/II/III position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled labor in the construction, maintenance and repair of County roads, bridges, and other related structures, and in various traffic control maintenance and  repair activities of the Public Works Agency; operates a variety of construction, maintenance and transportation equipment as necessary to complete daily tasks at the Glenn County Public Works Agency. HOUSING OFFICER

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Housing Officer to oversee the Housing Division in the Community Development Department, responsible for the City's affordable housing programs, human services funding, federal grants and homeless services. The ideal candidate will be a passionate affordable housing professional known for being creative and solution-oriented and will be well-versed in state and federal housing legislation and familiar with the unique challenges presented by California's housing market. This position manages the City's varied federal, state and local housing programs and projects and is responsible for managing the technical, fiscal and policy aspects of complex projects and programs. This position serves as liaison to the Housing and Human Services Commission which advises the City Council on funding and policy related to affordable housing and human services. The Housing Officer needs to work collaboratively with the Director, the other two program managers, the Housing Division staff, and many directors and program managers in other City Departments. Currently, major work efforts include implementation of the 2023-2031 Housing Element Programs and establishment of programs to assist unhoused members of the community. The Claims Specialist will report to the Insurance and Claims Administrator and will assist with liability claims and insurance program for the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans), the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain), the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) and the San Mateo County Express Lanes Joint Powers Authority (SMCELJPA). 

• Claims Processing and Management: Responsible for the processing of third-party personal injury and property damage claims against the District, ensuring thorough documentation, and adherence to both legal requirements and the District’s claims handling procedures. 

• Technical and Administrative Support: Provide essential technical and administrative assistance to the District’s third-party adjusting firm and internal and external legal partners facilitating efficient claim adjustments and resolutions. 

• Insurance Program Support: Assist in the administration and documentation of the District's annual insurance program, contributing to the enhancement and modernization of insurance processes. 

• Process Improvement and Modernization: Support the Insurance and Claims Administrator in identifying and implementing process improvements and modernization initiatives, aiming to increase efficiency and effectiveness in claims handling and insurance management.

This division is responsible for the design and construction of all capital projects and infrastructure required to provide a safe, reliable and efficient transportation system for Santa Clara County. These responsibilities include program and project management, design development, engineering management, project controls, construction management and turnover of various projects that are part of VTA's rail, facilities and highway transportation improvement programs.

This division is also responsible for the implementation of the projects identified in the 2000 Measure A Program, which includes the planning, design, and construction of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART Silicon Valley) Project.
