Under direct supervision, the Public Service Assistant II will perform litter/trash pick-up, barbeque maintenance, leaf/debris pick-up, and miscellaneous park duties in Central Park and other community parks.  The Public Service Assistant II will also perform related duties as assigned.
 
WORK SCHEDULE

The positions work up to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week and may be required to work a regular shift that includes evening and weekend hours. These temporary assignments are limited to 999 hours per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).

- Pick up and remove trash and litter from various City of Fremont parks
- Maintain park barbeques
- Leaf/debris cleanup
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Hiring Bonus

Up to 10 Lateral Police Officers hired into the classification of Police Officer for the City of Fremont will qualify for a new hire bonus of up to $100,000. 

• $10,000: Paid on the first paycheck following the Police Officer’s hire with the City of Fremont.
• $10,000: Paid upon completion of the Field Training Officer (FTO) Program.
• $15,000: Paid upon successful completion of probation.
• $15,000: Paid upon one (1) full year following completion of probation.
• $15,000: Paid upon two (2) years following completion of probation.
• $15,000: Paid upon three (3) years following completion of probation.
• $20,000: Paid for completing the final six (6) months2 (months 55-60) for a total of five (5) years of service.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Position:

This is a non-sworn classification structured for incumbents hired for the purpose of becoming a sworn police officer.  Police Officer Trainees are hired into this civilian position for the period prior and during the time they are assigned to a POST-certified Basic Law Enforcement Academy.  Upon successful completion of training at the academy and upon the availability of a Police Officer position, Police Officer Trainees are sworn in and appointed to the classification of Police Officer.  Police Officer Trainee benefits are limited to those of a civilian employee.

The City of Millbrae has an exciting opportunity for one (1) full-time Plant Senior Treatment Operator (Operator III) to join our team. This critical role is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring the City’s water pollution control plant to ensure the efficient and effective treatment of wastewater. DEFINITION

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Treatment Plant Operator III is the advanced journey-level position in the Treatment Plant Operator class series.  This classification is distinguished from the Treatment Plant Operator II in that the Treatment Plant Operator III requires a higher level of licensure.

Receives general supervision from the Chief Treatment Plant Operator.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowledge of: Design, operation, and maintenance principles of valves, pumps, motors, plumbing, and electrical systems; sewage treatment processes and general treatment plant operations; basic equipment maintenance and specialized tool operation used in maintenance and repairs; chemicals used in treatment plant operations; applicable State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) rules & regulations;  safe work practices and use of safety equipment in relation to the job duties and operational functioning of wastewater processes; basic laboratory practices and procedures; SCADA supervisory control and acquisition control systems.

Licenses: Possession and maintenance of a valid Class C California Driver's License with a satisfactory driving. Possession and maintenance of a Grade III Operator Certificate issued by State of California Water Resources Control Board. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, twist upper body, climb, lift 60 pounds, and drive a standard motor vehicle.  Work weekends and holidays. Ability to maintain records; learn and see operation of plant equipment, ability to access remote areas of the Treatment Plant using ladders, walk ways, and stairs.

Deputy Fire Marshal
Salary Range: $6,750.00 to $13,383.33 Monthly
 

This position will report directly to the Fire Marshal. The Deputy Fire Marshal is an advanced level position. Duties include, but are not limited to reading, interpreting, and enforcing all State statutes and regulations under the authority of the State Fire Marshal (SFM), and all standards as adopted by SFM as well as UCDH policies. This position will act as a technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas. This position will regularly lead projects of critical importance to the organization; these projects carry substantial consequences of success or failure. May direct programs with organizational-wide impacts that include formulating strategies and administrating policies, policies, processes, and resources. In this position, the individual will perform detailed inspections of buildings under the authority of the UCDH Fire Marshal’s Office. Provide fire and life safety education to occupants. Analyze hazardous materials and functional use of space during construction plan review and validate post-occupancy use for compliance. This position may serve as State Fire Marshal (SFM) Designated Campus Fire Marshal (DCFM) for the UCDH Hospital and other UCDH medical¬ related facilities. Note, that SFM has the sole authority to approve a candidate as an SFM DCFM.

Additionally, persons in this position are expected to perform plan reviews, construction inspections, and existing building inspections, participate in the Incident Command System, and understand and apply Joint Commission and CMS requirements, NFPA Standards, and California Code of Regulations.

Required Qualifications

• OSFM Fire Inspector 2A- 2D training class series and/or ICC Building Code Certification.

When not performing duties in the field, incumbents work in an indoor office setting and are required to enter data into a terminal, PC, or keyboard device; produce written documents using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling; use graphic instructions, blueprints, and layouts as part of the plan review process when checking for code compliance; and sit for extended periods of time with the ability to move at will.

San Mateo County Health is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Public Health Clinics Strategic Projects Manager. This management position will report to the Public Health Clinics Manager, overseeing Edison Clinics and Mobile Clinics and will have broad project management responsibility for key strategic efforts affecting the Public Health clinics.
 
There is currently one regular vacancy in the Public Health, Policy and Planning Division located in San Mateo, CA.
 
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:  

• Quality assurance and improvement:  build and visualize data in management reports and dashboards; convert data to information and use it to guide process improvement.
• Process improvement:  facilitate, document, track, organize, measure progress; e.g., conduct improvement work within daily huddles.
• Project management:  lead projects and provide ad hoc support of projects.
• Knowledge management:  inventory and maintain infrastructure of core programmatic documents and processes, how files are stored and shared.
• Partnership building:  support internal staff operational needs; coordinate with other stakeholders, such as staff from Behavioral Health & Recovery Services, Human Services Agency, Health IT, San Mateo Medical Center, grant makers, state agencies, etc.
• Management of administrative staffing:  supervise intermittent interns and volunteers.
• Contract and MOU support:  assist Clinics Manager to write scopes of work, produce required reports and invoices for categorical funding and operational agreements.
• Revenue optimization support:  oversee billing quality assurance and improvement, facilitate braided funding opportunities and oversight.
• Policy and procedures facilitation:  maintain inventory and lead update processes through completion, including occasional initial literature reviews or research and coordination of stakeholders.
• Change management and leadership synchronization:  coordinate staff engagement, training, feedback to ensure successful system changes, take meeting minutes, contribute to agendas, track on-going project work in support of meeting goals.

Ideal candidate will possess:  

• Experience with project management and process improvement as the lead.
• Knowledge and/or experience with:  County of San Mateo; health; people experiencing homelessness; HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
• Data skills including: requirements gathering; ad hoc report building; data and dashboard management.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with information technology systems including:  Power Business Intelligence (BI); advanced Excel; eClinical Works (eCW); ARIES; Microsoft SharePoint; Epic; Workday reporting.
• Experience with change management, leadership development, and team culture-building.

Education and Experience: 
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
 

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, or a related field. At least one year of professional administrative experience is typically required at the Associate Management Analyst level, and at least 3 years for the Management Analyst level.

Licenses and Certifications: 

• Depending upon assignment, possession of a valid California Driver's License.
