POLICE OFFICER - Academy Graduate - $8,419 to $11,416 per month (up to $13,128 with incentives)

The City of Pleasant Hill is currently seeking applicants for Police Officer Academy Graduate. We offer excellent pay, benefits, opportunities for promotion, as well as the opportunity to serve a great community that values the services we provide.

Police Officers can serve in patrol, traffic, investigations, and K-9 assignments. Other collateral opportunities include instructor positions (Firearms and Force Options Team), Regional SWAT, Mobile Field Force, 10851 Task Force, CSI, Regional Major Accident Investigation Team, Driving Team with firearms and force options team, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), FBI Safe Streets Task Force, SET Team, Drone Team, Social Media Team, Community Resource Officer, School Resource Officer, and Field Training Officers. EDUCATION:

Academy Graduates (no sworn experience) - High school diploma and a minimum of 45 units of college-level course work, in addition to graduation from a P.O.S.T. basic academy.

Academy Graduate candidates with an honorable discharge may be credited with up to 15 semester units for a minimum of 3 years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard).

The Housing Authority is seeking a team-oriented candidate to plan and manage the asset management function of the Housing Authority’s real estate portfolio including the housing assets owned by AHA’s affiliates. The Senior Asset Manager conducts financial, physical and regulatory performance review; develops and monitors capital needs assessment programs; and reviews, recommends and implements financing or refinancing schemes at multi-family and tax credit properties, in addition to providing highly responsible and complex professional assistance to the Directors of, Housing Development and Property Operations. The Senior Asset Manager may supervise one or more junior staff.

THE POSITION

Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant, the Reserve Police Officer is a sworn position assigned to field operations to patrol for the prevention and detection of crime and enforcement of laws and regulations within the philosophy of community oriented policing.  Incumbents are normally expected to solve most work problems independently and to refer to supervisory personnel only those matters which involve policy decisions, technical questions and unusual problems at the entry level and make recommendations at the advanced level.

The City of Foster City is looking for a Building/Fleet Maintenance Superintendent who will oversee the Building and Fleet Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating diverse and specialized building and fleet maintenance and repair functions.

This position manages and develops outside contracts, vendors, and project budgets; assures regulatory compliance and economy in all programs; coordinates assigned activities with other City departments and outside agencies; provides responsible and technical staff assistance; and performs duties as assigned. The ideal candidate would be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way would be:

Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by specialized training or coursework in construction trades, maintenance, automotive technology, or repair, and/or supervision.

Experience: Five (5) years of experience as a journey-level mechanic performing vehicle and equipment repairs or general repair and maintenance in one or more of the building trades, of which two (2) years should be in a supervisory or lead capacity.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver’s license upon appointment.
• Possession of ,or the ability to obtain, National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification in air conditioning, brakes, and electrical systems is highly desired.
• Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Building Operator Certification Level 1 and 2 is highly desired.

The City is seeking a Cross-Connection Control Specialist to perform a range of technical and specialized duties supporting the City’s water system, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of cross-connection control and backflow prevention programs. This role ensures compliance with safe drinking water standards as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Definition

To attend a Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved Police Basic Recruit Academy and successfully complete the academic and physical training required for appointment to the classification of Police Officer.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This is a trainee level classification which provides transition into the position of Police Officer. Police Officer Trainees are hired into this civilian position for the period prior and during the time they are assigned to a POST certified police academy. Upon successful completion of training at an academy and upon the availability of a Police Officer Recruit II position, Police Officer Trainees are sworn in and appointed to the classification of Police Officer Recruit II.

Supervision Received

Receives close supervision and evaluation on a daily basis by academy staff. Limited supervision by department training supervisor and/or manager during regular academy visits.

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is seeking an exceptional, process-orientated professional to serve as the Director of Housing Programs to assist with planning, organizing, managing, and providing administrative direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Housing Programs Department which administers the various assistance programs the AHA operates.
