Due to the nature of this position, a varied work schedule that includes evening and/or weekend hours is required. This is a full-time, on-site position, designed for direct collaboration with the team and active participation in daily operations.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting to fill the limited-term position of Code Enforcement in the Community Development Department, Building Division. 

In this exciting opportunity, the Code Enforcement Officer will work under the supervision of the Supervising Code Enforcement Officer and will serve as a frontline ambassador for city standards, working directly with residents, businesses, and property owners to ensure compliance with local codes and ordinances. This role is offered on a limited-term basis and is currently budgeted through June 30, 2027.  It is possible that the position will be extended beyond this date, but that will not be known until the Spring of 2027.  This position offers a meaningful opportunity to help uphold community standards and ensure compliant neighborhoods. The Code Enforcement Officer will respond to citizen concerns and proactively identify violations such as property maintenance issues, and zoning infractions. You will educate the public on code requirements through clear and respectful communication and work collaboratively with other city departments and external agencies to resolve issues. The Code Enforcement Officer is distinguished from the Supervisor by performing work of moderate difficulty and more routine tasks and duties assigned to this position within this classification series. These tasks involve inspections and enforcement of applicable ordinances pertaining to residential and commercial properties, housing, building construction, and other related regulations. Additionally, the Code Enforcement Officer will issue notices, citations, and follow up on compliance efforts in a fair and consistent manner. It is also imperative that the Code Enforcement Officer maintain accurate case files and documentation for possible legal proceedings.

FIRST YEAR PROJECTS/ASSIGNMENTS:

• Learn and understand the City of Gilroy code enforcement processes and help solve problems to foster community pride. 
• Engage in real-world code enforcement assignments by working on active cases and assisting in clearing the backlog to ensure safe and well-maintained neighborhoods.
• Participate in specialized training and obtain certifications to enhance your expertise and knowledge of code enforcement. 

A Dispatcher II is a civilian employee of the Police Department who performs a variety of tasks in the Department’s Support Services Division. The Dispatcher II acts as the Department’s primary dispatcher, receiving and relaying incoming calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance; dispatching police units; operating a variety of telecommunications equipment including radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch systems; status monitoring, records and file maintenance in a computer-aided environment; and entry level dispatch training. A Dispatcher II may be assigned to work various hours, shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime.

Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: prioritize requests for service based upon available resources, receive radio requests and handle accordingly, type, process and file a wide variety of reports and materials including memos, letters, complaints, declarations, warrants, citations, crime and traffic reports. Assists Department personnel and the public in person and by phone performing record checks, collecting fees and mailing requested reports to outside agencies in accordance with established regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Have a combination of education and work experience, including a minimum of 1 year of dispatch work; 2 years general office work involving typing of varied materials, public contact, general filing and basic record keeping; type at least 40 wpm (net). Have knowledge of business English, spelling; modern office practices and procedures; record keeping. Ability to dispatch police units quickly and effectively; work under pressure; exercise independent judgment; work with minimal supervision; make sound decisions in emergency situations; learn assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed routine; write English legibly; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; operate computer-aided dispatch system, 911 emergency telephone, and other multi-line telephone systems, various law enforcement telecommunications systems, radio console with headsets and handsets, computer keyboards, cameras, intercoms, security. Willingness to work varying shifts and radio dispatching skills.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The City of Pleasant Hill offers a competitive compensation and benefits program.

• Salary: $6,987 to $9,050 per month. Placement within the range depends on experience and qualifications.
• Medical Benefits: Choice of coverage with Kaiser or Blue Shield. The City pays 80% of monthly premiums at each coverage level. In lieu of medical coverage, the City will contribute $400 (employee only coverage) or $500 (employee + 1 coverage) or $600 (family coverage) into a MissionSquare 457 deferred compensation plan

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill two (2) full-time vacancies for the position of Peer Support Specialist I/II (PSS) within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). This position requires individuals to work on-site 5 days a week from 9:00am to 5:30pm, until training is successfully completed. Once fully trained, your schedule may adjust based on team needs and role requirements. 

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Peer Support Specialist I/II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Peer Support Specialist will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Peer Support Specialist will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client's (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs & other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;

• Perform field-based & telephone emergency mental health evaluations & crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedure;

• Provide crisis intervention & stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;

• Identify treatment needs & make appropriate referrals for necessary services;

• Perform triage & linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas. Provides peer-to-peer support services in the office and/or in the field including, but not limited to outreach, support, encouragement, guidance, advocacy, & referrals to external resources & services for clients & their families; builds rapport with clients & their families through sharing stories of lived experience and recovery.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist school children in safely crossing streets using hand-held stop signs or mechanical signals
