The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for an Assistant Director of Community Development who will be responsible for organizing, managing, and providing direction for all functions and activities of the Community Development Department. This includes planning, permitting, building inspection, code compliance, housing, and special projects. The Emergency Dispatcher I/II position in the Sheriff’s Department performs a variety of difficult work in the provision of 24-hour-per-day, seven-days-per-week public safety emergency dispatch service, including all 911 communications. Emergency Dispatcher I is the entry level class in the Emergency Dispatcher series.  It differs from Emergency Dispatcher II in that the II level is fully trained as a dispatcher and may provide training for the Dispatcher I. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Receives incoming calls from the public; determines type of assistance required, including law enforcement, fire or ambulance personnel, etc., and dispatches emergency and non-emergency radio and telephone communications to appropriate jurisdictions and agencies.
• Operates a law enforcement 911 communications network.
• Maintains radio communications with field personnel as necessary to relay messages and information, and to determine the location and safety of field personnel.
• Performs a variety of clerical duties as required, including but not limited to answering business telephones; processing and/or maintaining department records, including case files; compiling information and statistics for reports; preparing criminal history reports; entering/cancelling/retrieving data on computer; ordering supplies, copying and filing documents, etc.
• Processes civil, misdemeanor, juvenile and felony warrants.

DESCRIPTION  

The City of Thousand Oaks is excited to announce the creation of a new Engineering Division Manager position within the Public Works Department. The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Social Worker Supervisor III in the Child and Adult Protective Services division of the Health and Human Services Department. Under general supervision this position plans, assigns, supervises, trains, reviews and evaluates the work of Social Workers assigned to adult and child protective services; oversees and performs social services case work of a complex and difficult nature in providing a variety of social services to County residents; performs case work of varying scope and complexity and may provide program leadership and consultative services; responsible for program planning and implementation as well as performance of the most complex work and the full range of work supervised on a relief or overflow basis and performs other duties as assigned. This position is the specialized supervisory professional level in the social worker series and reports directly to a Health and Human Services Program Manager.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the shift Supervisor, places and removes traffic tubes in roadway as needed for traffic diversion on Bridge and in Toll Plaza. Cleans and polishes District vehicles, cleans and services traffic tubes and restrooms, works varied hours and shifts, assists Shift Supervisor as needed and performs other duties as required.

• AM shifts: 6:00am – 2:00pm
• Swing Shifts: 1:30pm – 9:30pm

Essential Responsibilities

• Relocates traffic tubes for reversal of traffic on Bridge and in Plaza

• Cleans and polishes District vehicles and assist in servicing District vehicles

• Cleans and services restrooms

• Services Emergency Operations Vehicles on week ends

• Cleans and re-tapes traffic tubes

• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job

• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.

THE CONTROLLER'S OFFICE

The Controller's Office mission is to promote the County's operational effectiveness and ensure its financial transparency and integrity by providing quality accounting, audit, and financial reporting services.

THE INTERNAL AUDIT DIVISION

The Division works to help safeguard County assets and reduce risks. This is accomplished by conducting independent operations and internal control audits to assist County management to improve operations and reduce risks related to County’s programs, functions, and information systems. Position Duties  

The Department of Public Works (DPW) is currently seeking to fill one (1) Principal Engineer/Architect position in the City Facilities and Architectural Services (CFAS) Division. This is a limit-dated position that is anticipated to be funded through June 30, 2027, subject to further extension as appropriate. However, should this position be discontinued through the budget process, the city may seek to place you in other internal job opportunities based on your previous work experience. 

Salary range(s) for this classification is $179,076.82 - $218,123.62 annually. This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.  

The Principal Engineer/Architect will support the Library Department (LD) in leading the coordination for the Library Facilities and Customer Experience Planning. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving critical infrastructure initiatives, including supporting the implementation of the California State Library Building Forward Infrastructure Grant projects and managing capital and facilities planning processes in collaboration with the LD and consultants. This individual will act as a leader, ensuring timely and effective project execution, and delivering results that meet organizational and state funding objectives.  

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Principal Engineer/Architect will require the ability to extensively collaborate across the LD, the DPW, Planning, Building and Code Enforcement (PBCE) and other contractors/vendors, while maintaining adherence to budgets, timelines, and plans. Outstanding leadership, a high degree of accountability, and the ability to establish an excellent working relationship with all stakeholders are required to be successful in this position.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead the design and construction of major public works projects, in partnership with the Library Department.  

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, architects, technicians, and inspectors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and consistent services. 

• Oversee engineering/architectural or other technical research; review, analyze, and prepare recommendations to Senior and Executive staff regarding project and/or program scope or objectives. 

• Direct and coordinate the preparation of cost estimates and project and/or program budgets; monitor budgets and schedules for performance. 

• Consult with Senior and Executive staff, contractors, other departments, and consultants to plan, design, and construct major engineering/architectural and/or other technical projects. 

• Direct and coordinate the creation, planning, and management of capital budgets and staffing plans to successfully deliver capital projects. 

• Oversee the planning and execution of the procurements of design consultants and construction contracts. 

• Partner with the department’s other executive staff to lead transformation, training, and other process improvement efforts in the City’s capital improvement program. 

• Prepare technical reports and correspondence as required.

Position Duties

The Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department is currently seeking to fill 2 full-time Maintenance Worker I vacancies in the Parks Division.

The salary range for this classification is: $68,473.60 - $83,304.00

Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.

This is the journey-level class in the Maintenance Worker classification series responsible for performing the full range of semi-skilled tasks for assigned maintenance operations and programs. Incumbents are expected to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from the Maintenance Worker II in that the latter class performs the more complex work assigned to the series.

Some assignments require candidates to be willing and able to work weekends, holidays and/or other shifts as needed.

Duties of the Maintenance Worker I position include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining park grounds which may include, but is not limited to: irrigation, cultivation, pruning, planting, and transplanting a variety of turf, shrubs, trees, and plants. 

• Operating mowing equipment in parks and athletic fields and operating triplex gang/rotary mowers, power edgers, tractors, rototillers, sprayers, dump and other trucks, power chain saws and other light power equipment and hand tools used in grounds and maintenance work. 

• Applying fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, and fertilizers. 

• Maintaining and making minor repairs to playgrounds, picnic areas, athletic fields and sport courts, park trails, and firebreaks as well as make minor repairs and adjustments to irrigation systems, mowers, and miscellaneous equipment. 

• Performing clean-up and litter pick-up functions, cleaning pools and fountains, scheduling automatic irrigation controllers, maintaining work-related records, and preparing corresponding reports. 

• Explaining programs and policies to the public, providing lead guidance to less experienced workers, assisting in firefighting and rescue duties in wilderness park areas, and may be responsible for vehicle and pedestrian traffic safety in work areas. 

• Must be willing and able to lead various unpaid labor and volunteer participants.

The County of Glenn is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works who is a strategic, collaborative, and confident leader with effective communication skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex engineering projects that provide essential services throughout Glenn County.
