DEFINITION
Under general supervision provides recreational and educational instruction and activities, social development, guidance and care for preschool and elementary age children by leading and assisting in the selection and coordination of a variety of activities and curriculum at a child care site.
This position is 8 hours per day and may require working at 2 sites to fulfill this time.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Child Care Teacher is responsible for implementing curriculum and supervising the children in the classroom. Child Care Teacher is distinguished from Child Care Lead Teacher in that the latter is provides supervision and guidance to the Child Care Teachers.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Direct supervision is provided by the Child Care Site Coordinator and Site Child Care Lead Teachers.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
• Supervise children from age 2.5 to 14 years.
• Assist in the development of a diversified program of recreational games, sports, arts, crafts and other activities for elementary school children.
• Assist in the development of a diversified preschool curriculum of music, science, math, dramatic play, social studies, literature and recreational activities.
• Plan and lead a variety of activities appropriate to children of various age groups.
• Participate in and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and events.
• Instruct children in the safe and proper use of supplies and equipment.
• Instruct children in proper health and hygiene care.
• Assist Child Care Lead Teacher with managing children’s portfolios and monitoring student progress by using Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) and designated online educational platforms, such as Learning Genie.
• Assist Child Care Site Coordinator in preparing yearly State of California Desired Results reports.
• Assist in curriculum planning and project preparations.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and in-person professional development trainings.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and furniture/toys daily.
• Change diapers/pull-ups as needed.
• Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facility and equipment.
• Inspect the site and equipment for potential safety hazards.
• Take corrective action to prevent injuries.

•  Assist in monitoring site supplies.
• Assist in recording numbers for attendance and nutrition reports.
• Drive/Transport children using City of Pacifica City vans.
• Attend meetings called by the Site Supervisor.
• Attend and participate in required in-service training activities.

Finance Clerk I:  This is the entrance level for clerical accounting employees.  Employees in this class normally work under close and continuous supervision performing a group of repetitive or closely related duties according to established procedures. Finance Clerks I are normally considered to be on training status and, as assigned responsibility and breadth of knowledge increase with increased experience, may reasonably expect their positions to be reassigned to the next higher class of Finance Clerk II.

Finance Clerk II:  Positions in this class are normally filled by advancement from the lower grade of Finance Clerk I, or, when filled from the outside require prior responsible clerical accounting experience.  A Finance Clerk II works under general supervision and, within a framework of established procedures, is expected to perform a variety of accounting duties with only occasional instruction or assistance.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate for the Finance Clerk position will possess excellent customer service skills and maintain professionalism regardless of work environment.  Cash handling experience with proven accuracy and integrity are essential to the position.  Strong communication skills are vital.  Candidates must be able to communicate with internal and external customers with ease and confidence.  The Ideal Candidate will also demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple competing timelines, remain organized, show attention to detail, as well as being highly trainable.  Regular, predictable, consistent, and timely attendance is an essential function of the position. The ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Prepare and process utility bills; collect payments over the counter and through the mail; balance cash drawer and prepare deposits; and process delinquent accounts; Set-up and maintain accounts on a computerized accounting system. Prepare or assist in the preparation of a variety of financial and statistical reports as assigned. Process accounts payable for the City; input purchase orders and blanket purchase orders to be paid into computer system; enter and verify invoices for payment; prepare and print claim report and distribute to City departments/divisions.

Process various transactions involving accounts payable, payroll, general ledgers and accounts receivable. Assist customers over the counter with respect to utilities billings, opening/closing accounts, problems, etc.; respond to citizen complaints and/or inquiries, referring more complex issues to higher level of authority as appropriate. Print and mail out renewal notices, delinquent notices, billings changes, etc. Review and check records, forms, and other documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to rules and regulations. Post a wide assortment of information to records. Process fixed asset requests, invoices and purchase order disbursements. Input a variety of data to computerized record keeping/data processing systems; maintain computerized and/or manual files of correspondence, records, and other documents as assigned. Receive, sort, and distribute in-coming and out-going mail as assigned. Order and maintain supplies. Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Education:

Any combination equivalent to the experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying.  A typical manner to achieve the knowledge and abilities would be:

Finance Clerk I

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  One (1) year experience performing clerical or accounting support work.

Finance Clerk II

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. 

Experience: One (1) year experience performing duties comparable to those of a Finance Clerk I in the City of Woodland.

Education and Training

• Experience in recreational activities, effective communication and interaction skills with youth, and ability to collaborate with staff. Must be at least 16 years old.
• Recreation leader 1 and 2: Students under the age of 18 are required to obtain a work permit from their school. 
• All staff 18+ are required to pass a fingerprint check submitted to the Department of Justice. 
• Sr. Recreation Leader: Sufficient education and experience to satisfactorily perform the duties of the classification.

Position Summary

Under general direction from the Director of Planning, manages projects, leads and supervises staff and performs difficult and complex transit planning studies, investigations and analyses. Supports the three elements of the department work program: Short-Range and Service Planning, Long-Range Strategic Planning, and Facilities Planning. Develops various transit and traffic analyses, plans, and projects which include complying with requirements of CEQA, NEPA, Title VI and ADA. Develops, executes, analyzes and summarizes complex planning projects or manages consultant efforts to accomplish such projects. Coordinates the District’s data using sources from, Golden Gate Bridge Traffic and Toll Revenue Collection System and data from outside the District, and will plan for new data resources to be integrated into the District’s systems as they become available on-line. Provides District data regarding bridge, road and transit facilities, traffic data and performance, transit ridership and performance, and toll and parking policies to outside and partner agencies. 

Makes regular personal contact with District staff to interpret planning policy and interacts with outside public works and transit partner agency representatives to exchange planning and conceptual design information.  Regularly works with the public and other agencies to develop and implement District programs. Receives general assignments or objectives from the Director of Planning, and performs related duties as required or assigned.

Essential Responsibilities

• Researches, compiles, analyzes and interprets complex technical, demographic, economic, financial and other statistical data for the development of various roadway and transit facility plans and projects such as the District's transit service plan, transit capital improvement program, proposed bridge tolls  or parking facilities.
• Monitors and evaluates transit service performance, bridge traffic patterns, parking occupancy and trends, and transit service patronage, including the use of computer techniques or models where appropriate
• Prepares, or supervises preparation of, routine evaluations of the efficiency and effectiveness of bus on-street operations, major transit facilities and bus stops.  Recommends specific improvements based on these evaluations
• Assists in the preparation of the District's Short-Range Transit Plan and other federal and state required reports, including the organization of meetings between various staff providing input to these reports on an as-needed basis
• Leads teams of planning and other staff working on planning projects.  Develops project staffing requirements and timelines
• Prepares official recommendations and informational reports for consideration by the general public, the District's Board of Directors, technical staff of the District or other agencies and other groups on technical and planning subjects. Prepares or assists with verbal presentations to staff groups, public groups, and the boards of local municipalities and advises District personnel on matters related to interactions with these groups
• Supports and coordinates staff responsibilities with regard to monthly meetings of the District’s Service Review Committee and other internal and external coordination meetings as directed
• Acts, when directed, as liaison between the District and other agencies on planning matters by reviewing outside reports, attending meetings, drafting correspondence and providing technical information to public agencies and other transit groups.  Communicates with the general public on technical matters related to facility planning and District data
• Supervises or provides staff support and coordination to certain advisory groups to the District, including the District’s three Passenger Advisory Committees (Bus Passengers Advisory Committee, Ferry Passengers Advisory Committee, and Advisory Committee on Accessibility), as appropriate when specific questions related to bus, ferry, or bridge traffic operations or facilities need a response.
• Prepares scopes of work for planning projects to be undertaken by consultants; coordinates the process of consultant selection; provides technical liaison with consultants and coordinates contract administration
• May assist District Engineering Department with development of capital projects related to transportation and traffic support facilities
• Represents Director of Planning in their absence at various District meetings, meetings with other public agencies, and with the Planning Department  
• May assign and supervise work of Senior Planner and Associate Planners
• Performs related duties as assigned
• Ensures that employees under his or her supervision follow established safe work practices and obey all safety rules

About the Department

Position Duties  

The Department of Public Works is recruiting to fill an Information Systems Analyst (ISA) position within the Enterprise GIS (Geographic Information Systems) team.  

Salary range(s) for this classification is $137,089.68- $167,032.32 annually. This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.  

The Enterprise GIS team operates out of the Department of Public Works but works across the city to coordinate GIS efforts, lead multi-departmental GIS projects, geospatially-enable City business systems, and administer Enterprise GIS infrastructure for citywide use. The city has standardized on a modern technology stack consisting of Windows Server, Esri ArcGIS platform, VertiGIS Studio, Safe Software FME, and SQL Server enterprise geodatabases. The city has an enterprise license agreement with Esri, and the Enterprise GIS team maintains a large Enterprise GIS server environment with public and internal-facing ArcGIS Server instances, complementary ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online organizations, an SDE environment featuring a data catalog with over 1,000 feature classes, and integrations with dozens of business systems.   

The ISA is a professional-level position in the IT professional management series and responsible for GIS system administration, database design, business system integration, application development, and implementation of large-scale enterprise projects. The position requires a GIS professional with broad technical experience as well as the ability to take initiative and direct others. The ideal candidate must be a strong individual contributor that is able to take full ownership of projects, designing solutions in alignment with City Enterprise GIS standards and industry best practices and working at a hands-on level to build, implement, and support such solutions. The position also demands proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with limited resources. Advanced knowledge of the ArcGIS platform and experience with GIS server administration is required. Experience with VertiGIS Studio and GIS web application development in an Esri environment is highly desirable.   

The GIS ISA reports to the Enterprise GIS Manager. This position is responsible for programming that supports the development and maintenance of major applications used citywide.  

Key responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:   

• Administer Enterprise GIS server environment (ArcGIS Enterprise, VertiGIS Studio, FME Server), including planning for and conducting system upgrades; applying and confirming patches; capacity planning and load testing; publishing and tuning services; managing backups; troubleshooting and resolving system issues; managing security policies, user accounts, roles, and permissions; and maintaining system documentation. 

• Meet with business owners and end users to gather and document requirements for GIS solutions. Design, build, and deploy mapping applications on the ArcGIS platform. Provide documentation, training, and support to end users.  

• Develop and maintain web mapping applications using VertiGIS Studio Web 5.x, including web map authoring, site configuration, and development of print templates, reports, and workflows.  

• Develop and maintain complex geoprocessing routines and ETL workbenches using FME and/or Python.  

• Conduct data modeling and design activities for new datasets by analyzing inputs and developing appropriate schemas in alignment with City standards. 

• Build and support GIS integrations with City business systems.  

• Lead large-scale, cross-department Enterprise GIS projects. Work collaboratively with departments to reduce program redundancies and support effective use of enterprise resources. Train end users on enterprise standards and best practices; provide development oversight and guidance. 

In addition, this position is part of a team responsible for providing GIS support in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when activated.

Sausalito employees in this unit work four nine-hour days, Monday - Thursday for 36 hours a week.

The successful candidate will work seamlessly supporting the Planning team, Code Enforcement, the Building Inspector, and Chief Building Official in processing permit applications and in providing public counter services for both the planning and building divisions of the Community Development Department. 

The Building and Planning Permit Technician processes permits, issues over the counter permits, collects fees, advises the public, routes and collects plans to and from appropriate departments or consultants, reviews basic drawings and plans and permit packages for completeness, and performs related administrative/general office support and other duties as assigned to support both the building and planning divisions of the community development department.
