POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Wheatland Police Department is responsible for providing public safety for the city. Services provided by the Police department include uniformed patrol, investigative services, traffic enforcement and administration. Dispatch services are provided under a contract with the Yuba County Sheriff. The Police Department is staffed with 11.5 FTE positions, of which 9 are authorized sworn positions. The authorized department staffing includes 1 Police Chief, 1 Sergeant, 6 Officers, 3 part-time Reserves and 2 non-sworn positions.

Under general supervision from the Police Sergeant, to perform a variety of duties in law enforcement and crime prevention programs; to maintain order and a safe environment for the citizens of Wheatland; to participate in criminal investigations and crime prevention programs; and to provide a variety of duties relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

The Department: 

The Mayor and Council office is a division of the City Manager’s Office. As an integral part of the City Manager’s Office, the Mayor and Council division provides administrative support to the City Council and general customer service to constituents and external stakeholders. The Santa Clara City Council consists of the Mayor elected at-large, and six City Councilmembers elected by City Council district.

The Position: 

The Executive Assistant is an executive-level support position responsible for interacting effectively with the public, elected officials, City management and key department staff. The position will provide administrative support including calendar management, oversight of event and meeting coordination, managing travel arrangements, administration of office budget, and managing a wide range of complex administrative duties with initiative, independence, while supporting management staff and elected officials. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.

This class is distinguished from other office administrative classes by its direct reporting relationship to the City Manager and its broader continuing interfaces with political and elected officials, department directors, other government agencies, private business representatives, City staff, and the public. The ideal candidate must be able to handle non-partisan confidential matters with a high level of judgement, practice confidentiality and discretion. An incumbent in this position demonstrates strong ethical, professional, and service-oriented leadership and interpersonal skills, sets a good example, and correctly applies the tenets of the City's Code of Ethics and Values.

 
As a member of the City's unclassified service, this is an "at-will" position, and the incumbent serves at the discretion of the City Manager.

Minimum Experience Requirements: 

Six (6) years of progressively responsible and varied administrative support including supervisory responsibilities, which includes one (1) year of support experience assisting executive management or a high-level public official.

License/Certifications: 

Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment and for duration of employment.

Desirable Qualifications: 

Experience working in the public sector.

The Solid Waste Programs Division is leading the charge towards making Sunnyvale a Zero Waste City with the goal of 90% waste diversion by 2030 through innovative programs like FoodCycle and waste energy recovery. Another exciting challenge that the Division Manager will be leading is the rebuilding of the SMaRT Station.
 
The Solid Waste Programs Division Manager is a management classification responsible for a wide range of functions including preparing and administering the divisional budget, supervising technical and professional staff, outside agencies and consultants, leading major projects and representing the Division with other departments.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental science, engineering, public administration, or related field; AND

Six (6) years of experience in solid waste management, including two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Engineer for the Facilities Services office.

The Engineer will perform engineering design review, and options analysis in the areas of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for judicial branch facilities. Incumbent will assist facility management staff in the more complex facility maintenance engineering activities including1) development and control of operating and maintenance procedures, 2) analysis of design maintainability and operability, and 3) other related technical support.

Incumbent will work directly with regulatory agencies such as Division of the State Architect (DSA), Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC), Division of Occupational Health and Safety (Cal/OSHA), and local city and county Departments of Public Works (DPW) to explain the Judicial Council’s approach to code compliance in designs for new capital projects, facility modification projects, and correction of code violations in existing court facilities. The mechanical professional engineer (PE) license in the state of California is required to provide credible authority as the incumbent negotiates with the regulatory agencies and to validate incumbent’s decisions that may affect the safety of court facility occupants.

May oversee contractors and subcontractors during design and construction and may perform evaluations of “as built” conditions to assure compliance with plans, specifications, regulations, and applicable standards.

Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the college coursework on a year-for-year basis.

Other requirements include possession of a valid California Registration as a professional Civil Engineer and possession of a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Electrician in the Public Works Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform installation, maintenance, and repair on a wide variety of electrical equipment used in street lighting, traffic signal control, sewage lift stations, HVAC and automation, building power distribution, fire alarm, and related systems and equipment; operate a variety of hand and power tools; and perform related work as assigned. The Electrician has responsibility for working in all facets of the electrical trade, ensuring safe practices and operation of equipment.
