THE POSITION: The Dixon Police Department is recruiting to fill full-time Police Officer positions at either the Academy Graduate Level or Lateral Level, as well as establish an employment eligibility list for future possible use. The City offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for qualified applicants pursuing a law enforcement career. Dixon Police Officers are responsible for a wide variety of generalist police services. Opportunities for specialization and advancement are also available. The Dixon Police Department operates on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Overview:

The Program Administrator (Contracts Supervisor) plans, organizes, supervises, and coordinates the procurement by contract of professional consultant services (architectural engineering "A/E" and non-A/E consultants) and specialized Valley Water activities, and coordinates and oversees contract administration activities.  The Program Administrator works on contracts that are highly complex and sensitive in nature, where substantial judgment and initiative are essential in making recommendations and resolving problems. This is a management and leadership position with oversight of a team of contract professionals. This position reports to the Manager of the Purchasing and Consultant Contracts Unit, within the General Services Division.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Review and approve procurement request documents, cost estimates, scope, and other relevant information to initiate and implement a procurement strategy.
• Provides advice to personnel on procurement and contracting issues.
• Oversee the development, preparation and negotiation of complex contract proposals, competitive/non-competitive consultants, and service contracts.
• Assure that Invitations for Bids (IFBs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other processes are conducted consistent with policy, laws, and regulations.

• Collaborate with management and legal staff on the development of RFP, contract, and addendum boilerplate language.
• Monitors, revises, and enforces District procurement policies and procedures.
• Ensures that the District RFP and contract documents comply with the requirements of funding agencies for usage of grant funds.
• Ensures timely procurement practices and leads contract process improvements.
• Prepares reports, memorandums, and presentations on procurement program or contract issues.
• Oversees contract administration system, manages contracts work project list, and forecasts procurement requirements.
• Implements best practices in contract management practices, procedures, and policies.
• Manage, lead, assign, develop and mentor staff engaged in contract administration activities.

Ideal Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in public procurement and contract management, or a closely related field in the public-sector environment, including high value contract administration activities for professional services including either one year in experience planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing various project or programs, or serving as the Valley Water recognized subject matter expert or advisor in the assigned program area.

• 3+ years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience of staff is preferred.

• Procurement of professional services requiring specific licensure, including architectural and engineering services.
• Principles and techniques of budget preparation and program and personnel management.
• Principles and practices of supervision, training, and constructive discipline.
• Contract cost analysis, negotiations, and contract development.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Assistant Civil Engineer! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on capital improvement projects in the Parks, Recreation & Waterfront Department or the Public Works Department. The Public Works Department supports the City’s extensive network of public infrastructure. Engineers in this department work on projects across the city that advance City initiatives such as the Climate Action Plan, Pedestrian Plan, and Vision Zero. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering and two (2) years of professional civil engineering experience in design and construction work at a level equivalent to the City of Berkeley Junior Public Works Engineer classification.

Other requirements include:

• Possession of a California State Certification of Registration as a Professional Engineer
• Possession of a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

About the Role 

As a Mechanic I/II, you will:

• Planned and carried out preventive maintenance schedules for all city vehicles and equipment.

• Diagnose and repair gasoline, diesel, and alternative-fuel engines; hydraulic, electrical, fuel, ignition, exhaust, and brake systems.

• Operate computerized diagnostic instruments plus a full range of hand, air, and electric tools.

• Maintain concise and clear repair records in our repair management software.

• Perform welding, metal fabrication, tire work, and minor body repairs.

• Provide emergency field assistance and respond to critical fleet issues on a 24-hour standby.

• (Mechanic II only) Lead and review the work of assigned staff and manage garage inventory, purchasing, and repair/maintenance planning

The City of Sunnyvale is recruiting for a Principal Water Pollution Control Plan Operator.  This position, reporting to the Water Pollution Control Operations Manager, undertakes supervisory responsibilities at the Sunnyvale Water Pollution Control Plant (SWPCP). Their duties include providing instruction, troubleshooting, and maintenance related to plant operations, supervising training programs, ensuring efficient operation and maintenance of equipment, and coordinating with various stakeholders.

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:

• Graduation from high school or tested equivalent, and
• Five years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant with at least 3 years at the shift supervisor level as defined by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB).  The Senior WPC Operator position at the SWPCP is considered equivalent to the SWRCB Shift Supervisor definition.
• Grade III Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate issued by the California State Water Quality Control Board
• Class C California driver's license and a safe driving record
