THE POSITION: The Dixon Police Department is recruiting to fill full-time Police Officer positions at either the Academy Graduate Level or Lateral Level, as well as establish an employment eligibility list for future possible use. THE POSITION: As potential Police Sergeants, candidates in these roles will shoulder significant responsibility overseeing law enforcement and patrol duties during designated shifts. Responsibilities extend beyond field supervision, including the enforcement of departmental rules, fostering discipline, resolving subordinate issues, and conducting team performance evaluations. This role requires collaboration with armed personnel, possibly in uniform or plain clothes, requiring a balance of field and office tasks. Under the supervision of the Fire Marshal, is responsible for performing plan review, inspections, and other duties as required.  The position will also be involved to varying degrees with public education, public relations, exterior hazard abatement, engine company pre-fire planning, record keeping, and report writing.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Receives supervision from the Fire Marshal. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position is responsible for the review of plans, to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local fire safety laws, ordinances, and codes. Although not all inclusive, the following serve to represent the various types of plans to be reviewed: planning applications; applications for the subdivision of land; site plans for access and water supply; building and tenant improvement plans; fire protection systems including fire sprinkler, fire alarm, kitchen hood extinguishing systems; and other types of plan reviews that are part of various fire code permitted activities.  

Other duties include attending meetings with other local government agencies such as planning and building departments, architects, contractors, developers, and the general public.  Utilizes the District’s citation process when appropriate and when other means of gaining voluntary compliance are unsuccessful. This position is responsible for conducting in-house training and updating of field inspection staff members on changes occurring in codes enforced by the District.  This position is also responsible for the formulation of standardized field inspection guidelines and record keeping systems for construction projects. Provides supervision, work direction, and technical assistance as directed. Participates in the code change process at the state and international levels. Utilizes tools and technology identified by the District related to performance of tasks. Supports emergency operations as requested and appropriate.

The position is responsible for performing inspections of both new and existing buildings; witnessing various tests required for sophisticated fire protection equipment and verifying proper operation and compliance with applicable codes and standards; prepares necessary correspondence, reports, and records; with regards to projects, confers with architects, engineers, developers, etc.; attends training courses and meetings of professional organizations as directed; performs surveys of fire hazards and processes complaints; conducts and participates in public education and public relations programs; performs other related duties as directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: At least three years’ experience in an organized fire prevention/fire and life safety bureau.  Experience must include involvement in the following duties and responsibilities: fire inspection, plan review, and public education/relations.

Education / Certification: An Associate of Arts/Science Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university. The successful completion of the following California State Fire Training: Fire Inspector 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, Fire Inspector 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, and Plans Examiner 1A, 1B, 1C, and CA Statues and Regulations.

Desirable Education / Certification: Must have or obtain within one year of employment, certification as an International Code Council Fire Plans Examiner. Employees are required to maintain certification as a condition of employment. Must obtain within three years of employment, California State Fire Marshal certification for Plans Examiner.

The Air District is accepting applications for the position of Legal Intern in the Legal Office. This is a temporary, exempt position, not to exceed 10-12 weeks in Summer 2026. There are two (2) vacancies. 

About the Division
The Legal Division provides a wide array of legal services to support the entire Air District, including prosecuting violations of air laws; advising on legal compliance with the Brown Act, California Environmental Quality Act, AB 617, and other federal, State and local laws; supporting rulemakings by developing regulatory language and advising on compliance with rulemaking requirements; supporting the permitting program; reviewing records under the Public Records Act; researching legal issues; and staying abreast of current legal developments in air quality throughout California and nationwide. The Division utilizes a variety of tools to resolve enforcement actions, such as abatement orders, civil enforcement, and coordinating with other enforcement agencies, like local district attorneys or the state Attorney General. For cases in environmental justice communities, Air District staff can directly engage with community members when determining the appropriate legal remedies, including high enough penalties to reach deterrence-based outcomes and ensure the community benefits from the related funds and measures to bring the facility into long-term compliance and prevent the potential recurrence of violations.

Definition
Under close supervision, the legal intern performs various work related to and in support of legal casework being undertaken by attorneys in the Legal Division. The intern gains practical work experience through assisting the Air District’s attorneys while following guidelines and procedures defined by the Legal Division.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is a temporary training position for current law students and recent law school graduates. Interns will apply their legal education to work and gain practical experience assisting experienced attorneys on a variety of cases and projects. Through this work, interns will gain valuable environmental law and regulatory experience.

Today, SVP owns, operates, and participates in more than 2,000 MW of electric generating resources delivering 4,800 GWh of electricity. SVP is growing due to data center expansion, high-density developments, and electrification initiatives. SVP’s peak load will be increasing from 700 MW to 1300 MW in the next 5-10 years. To accommodate future growth, SVP is implementing a $400 million system expansion and infrastructure replacement plan.

The Position:

This is a temporary, as-needed position assigned to the City of Santa Clara’s Electric Utility Department, Silicon Valley Power (SVP). The position is part of the Systems Support Group (SSG), which functions as the technology backbone of SVP and is responsible for critical technology modernization, cybersecurity, and operational support in response to rapid utility growth and evolving regulatory requirements.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and support both enterprise and utility-specific network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Cisco technologies. The incumbent plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the organization’s overall network environment, including the SVP’s utility communication and control systems.
 
In this role, the Network Administrator is responsible for administering and monitoring network services, managing a variety of advanced network and security products—including, but not limited to, Cisco firewalls and intrusion prevention systems- and maintaining compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements as well as applicable state and local mandates. This position involves supporting and maintaining complex multi-protocol infrastructure components, including enterprise-grade Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless controllers. Additionally, it consists of managing secure VPN access, routing protocols, and future zero-trust network access initiatives.

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position, and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

Typical Duties:

Network: Design, configure, deploy, and maintain secure enterprise-grade network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points within a large and complex high-availability multi-protocol environment.

Network Performance: Proactively monitor network utilization and capacity, and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, degradation, or failure.

Network Security: Design, configure, deploy, and maintain, including but not limited to firewalls, VPNs, IPS systems, and zero-trust platforms, in a highly segmented environment.

VOIP: Support VoIP infrastructure to ensure QoS, call quality, and reliability.

Cybersecurity: Investigate and produce comprehensive reports on all cybersecurity incidents and threats.

Access Control: Maintain a zero-trust security model, implementing strict access controls, multi-factor authentication, and least-privilege principles.

Process and Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and change control records to ensure consistency and compliance.

Operational Support: Participate in the ticketing queue for service requests and after-hours maintenance windows as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education Requirements: 

Associate degree from an accredited University.

Minimum Experience Requirements: 

Three (3) Years of Hands-On experience within an enterprise environment as a Network Administrator, Network Engineer, Sr. Network Engineer, or Network Architect.

Desirable Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited University.
• Five (5) Years of Hands-On experience within an enterprise environment as a Network Administrator, Network Engineer, Sr. Network Engineer, Network Architect, or equivalent, preferably within a NERC-CIP regulated public utility.
• Experience administering Cisco ASA & FTD Firewalls, Core Switches, and Edge Routers
• Experience administering HP Aruba Switches and Wireless Controllers
• Certifications: Active (non-expired) professional certifications such as Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), Palo Alto (PCNSE), HP Aruba, Azure Cloud, and/or industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CompTIA Security+, GIAC, etc.).  Proof of active certifications must be uploaded with your application submission.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

• Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and Cisco firewall administration.
• Expert knowledge of STP, VTP, DTP, HSRP, and GLBP

Work with Building Inspectors and/or Code Compliance Officers to schedule inspections and pull related permits.  Process various transactions involving business registrations, cashiering and permitting.  Assist customers over the counter with respect to new business registrations and renewals, general building permit issues, and over the counter plan submittals.  Generate reports as needed utilizing the computerized program related to permitting and/or licensing.  Provide information and direction to the public related to community development, planning, building, engineering, code enforcement and permit processes via phone, e-mail and counter work.  Respond to citizen complaints and/or inquiries, referring more complex issues to higher level of authority as appropriate.  Review and check records, forms, and other documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to rules and regulations.  Update forms and informational materials as needed.  Maintain files, both paper and computerized.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position.  Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination equivalent to the experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying.  A typical manner to achieve the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education: Equivalent to a High School diploma.

Experience: One (1) year of experience performing clerical or financial record keeping support work.

Offered position and starting salary based on education, training and years of experience.

The pay cycle is bi-weekly.  Except for worker's compensation coverage and sick leave accrual, no other benefits compensations are provided. Employees must contribute 1.45% of salary to Medicare and 7.5% to a retirement plan in accordance with Federal Law.

This position is Temporary / Part-Time, working no more than

130 hours per month AND no more than 960 hours per Fiscal Year.
