How You Will Make an Impact:

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking an Asset Management Coordinator to support the agency's affordable housing initiatives and asset management goals. The Coordinator handles a mix of technical and administrative tasks, including responding to inquiries, researching and compiling information, and managing specialized reporting projects. Additionally, the role involves tracking and reconciling financial, operational, and statistical records. The Coordinator also provides confidential support to management, staff, and various boards. This position assists with onboarding new hires and manages office arrangements for team members. It's a dynamic position requiring a mix of organizational skills and attention to detail.

This position requires knowledge of asset management, property maintenance, construction project management, capital planning and systems management, budget preparation, and financial modeling to analyze portfolio performance. 

What Our Team Is Looking For: 

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include: 

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in community development, business, economics, urban planning, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field; and

A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience performing asset management, real estate development, property management, and/or construction management functions.

Certification as a California Notary public is desirable.

Certifications in Section 8 and LIHTC compliance, Fair Housing and Excel experience is desirable.

Possession of a valid California Driver's License and satisfactory driving record at the time of appointment is required as a condition of initial and continued employment only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than the employee's ability to get to/from various work locations promptly, is necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position of Housing Inspector II (Certified)! In this role, you will perform skilled inspection work with City residential housing inspection programs. You will independently perform the full scope of work in the investigation, reporting and follow-up of housing deficiencies to gain compliance with housing, building, zoning, fire, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and related codes and regulations.

Assignments are varied and generally require close interaction with the public, providing information and interpretation of applicable ordinances, codes and regulations. We'll expect you to exercise considerable independence and discretion in conducting inspections, resolving complaints and enforcing inspection results.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:

Equivalent to graduation from high school and at least two years of full-time experience equivalent to Housing Inspector or Building Inspector or Code Enforcement Inspector for a public agency. 

Must possess:

• An International Code Council (ICC) OR California (CA) certification in Residential Building or Housing Inspection or in Code Enforcement; and
• ICC or CA Residential or Commercial Electrical Inspector certification and ICC or CA Residential or Commercial Plumbing Inspector certification, or equivalent ICC or CA Legacy Certification for either Combination Inspector or Combination Dwelling Inspector.

Other requirements: Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, incumbent is required to maintain a valid California driver's license as well as a satisfactory driving record.

In addition to the qualifications above, the ideal candidate will have effective and courteous communication skills in order to discuss housing violations, violation remedy and necessary inspections and fees and participate in depositions and court hearings as requested. Course Instructors have the opportunity plan curriculum in your area of expertise and share that knowledge with a class size of 5-15 students. We need instructors for all types of programs and classes at the Community Center, with a focus on adult/senior education. ROLE

Under the direction of the Director of Engineering/City Engineer, the Engineering Manager plans, organizes and directs the activities of an assigned engineering division; coordinates engineering services with other divisions, City departments, outside agencies and organizations; performs advanced level professional engineering work in the areas of current and advance engineering; provides complex staff assistance to the Director and others to plan, organize, supervise, and review the work of assigned staff; may be designated to serve as acting City Engineer and perform other related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This classification is responsible for planning and directing staff, and directing current and advanced engineering projects .

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

The incumbent receives general direction from the Director and provides direction and supervision to assigned professional, technical, and clerical staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Plans, manages, oversees and directs the professional and technical engineering work in the design, investigation, project management and construction of street, storm drainage facilities, sanitary sewer facilities, parks, park irrigation systems, water production and distribution facilities; reclaimed water, buildings, and other projects.
• Recommends goals and objectives; assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Plans, organizes and supervises the activities of assigned professional, technical and clerical staff.
• Trains employees in work procedures, standards and safety practices; reviews work in progress or upon completion for compliance with standards; prepares documentation and improvement plans and recommends disciplinary action.
• Reviews and approves employee work schedules, overtime, vacation, sick leave and time cards.
• Participates in the development and implementation of the Department's work plan and budget; reviews budget expenditures; recommends necessary staff, equipment, materials and supplies needed to support the work plan.

• Monitors and keeps informed of current trends in the field of municipal engineering, including legislation, court ruling and professional practices and techniques; evaluates their impact and recommend policy and procedural modifications accordingly.
• Acts on behalf of the Director when needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Information Technology Department is recruiting for a Business Analyst within the City Products-Projects-Portfolio Office (C3PO).

The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing and documenting business processes, identifying needs, and providing data-driven recommendations to improve the organization's efficiency and productivity.

The position will also lead and perform usability and accessibility work on digital service delivery analysis and/or improvement. This position will play a key role in ensuring new services are developed to bridge access, language, and ease of use barriers experienced disproportionately by underserved portions of our community.

This position is currently funded through June 30, 2025, with the potential to extend based on resource availability.

Salary Information:The final candidate's qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Senior Analyst classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

• Salary Range (including the 5% NPWI): $113,327.76 - $138,072.48
