Group Supervisor II ($39.04/hr-$48.83/hr) - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. A degree in sociology, psychology, corrections, criminal justice, counseling or a closely related social or behavioral science is preferred.

Selected candidates must be available to work flexible shifts, including graveyards, day shift, swing shift, weekends and holidays at any of the Probation Department locations. Selected candidates must also successfully pass a background investigation, including fingerprints, medical examination, psychological evaluation, a truth verification test and be free from any physical, emotional or mental condition which might adversely affect the exercise of the powers of a Peace Officer. Felony and misdemeanors convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Group Supervisors hired into permanent positions must pass PC 832 peace officer training and complete a 160 hour STC training course within one year of appointment.

Group Supervisors are responsible for:

• Supervising daily activities of youth in confinement.
• Observing and supervising unstable youth.
• Enforcing security and safety measures including searches of youth and their living quarters for contraband.

Qualifications

The North Tahoe Fire Protection District is currently accepting applications for current and future job openings from qualified individuals to serve on the chipping crew. These positions are grant-funded, seasonal positions assigned to a 40-hour work week. These positions are returning to the fire district in 2025, and we’ll be hiring three people to operate the chipping crew.  This position is expected to be active from approximately May through November.  The actual start and end dates will be dependent on weather and snow conditions and may be extended beyond 6 months, but no more than 9 months from the employment start date.  The eligibility list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies.  

The Chipping Crew Members work under the direct supervision of the Division Chief of Fire and Life Safety or their designee.  

The primary purpose of this crew is to operate a residential chipping program for the local community. This includes responding to chipping requests, traveling to those addresses with a truck and chipper, chipping the material, ensuring a clean site upon leaving, potentially hauling and dumping the material at a temporary holding site, assisting with loading, and ensuring activities are adequately tracked. The applicant must be comfortable working in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions and lifting objects frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.  Chipping crew members will also assist with community workdays utilizing the truck and chipper or assisting with cutting and hauling combustible materials and filling green waste dumpsters.

AC Transit is seeking a Finance Systems Project Manager. Under general direction serves as the project manager leading a variety of complex, finance systems-related projects. This position works with department end-users, Innovation and Technology (IT) staff, consultants and, vendors to translate business and operational requirements into workable finance system solutions. Incumbents in this position provide training and technical assistance in the use of the system software.

This classification is distinguished from other finance classifications by the assigned project management responsibilities leading District-wide, finance systems-related projects and studies of considerable size and complexity. Provides consultation and professional, technical advice to executive staff, management teams, and other District departments; represents the Department on various external committees and projects.
Prepares and presents a variety of reports on finance operations, activities, and special projects; presents findings to the Board of Directors, executive management, other District staff, and various public and private entities.

Evaluates and recommends professional consulting services for assigned projects; develops and disseminates Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Qualifications (RFQs), and Invitation For Bids (IFBs) and develops proposal evaluation criteria; assists in the negotiation, preparation, and administration of professional services and contracts; recommends and prepares amendments to professional services contracts.

Prepares, reviews, and maintains a variety of project-related information and documentation, including project schedules, Statements of Work (SOWs), status reports, detailing issues, risks, and deliverables; monitors agreements and projects for compliance with relevant codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
Attends and participates in professional group meetings and committees; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of project management and market research. Provides technical and functional direction to professional, technical, and contract staff and participates in the formation, planning, review, and management of assigned projects.

Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a field directly related to the area to which assigned.
For the Finance Systems Project Manager position the following are applicable fields of study: business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, management information systems, or a related field.

Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in the professional field required by the assigned special projects. The Finance Systems Project Manager position requires accounting support experience utilizing and supporting financial systems and/or two (2) years that involved responsibilities at a level equivalent to the District's classification of Project Manager II. Years of experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a two for one basis (two years experience may be submitted for one year of education).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Physical Requirements: Must maintain the physical condition necessary to perform tasks in an office setting operating a computer, keyboard, and other peripheral equipment; safely drive a District automobile; and walk, stand, and climb short distances in construction settings in order to inspect the progress of assigned projects.
