THE POSITION

This is an excellent job opportunity for individuals interested in law enforcement. 

This is a recruitment for the entry-level class of the Police Services Aide series.  Incumbents perform work according to established procedures and routines, although an employee may be required to make decisions involving emergency circumstances.  Detailed instructions are given on assignments and work is reviewed while in progress.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Operates computers, and other communications equipment; answers a variety of questions from the public and handles a variety of front desk services ; receives and processes phone calls for Police assistance; maintains detailed records of Police phone and radio calls and their disposition; types routine reports and miscellaneous correspondence; processes documents and maintains files in accord with standard procedures; maintains files, receives money, and issues receipts; prepares daily reports and transactions; may assist with animal control duties when needed; fingerprints applicants; assist with property room functions including transporting property to and from court; and performs related work as required.

Also, assist with community engagement events, conducts traffic control and in field equipment delivery, supports patrol staff with equipment maintenance and supply replenishment.

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II (Licensed) within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP) for the day shift. 

Tri-City’s MCCP operates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. As such, the schedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern, consisting of three twelve-hour days per workweek and one alternating eight-hour day every other week. Shifts may include weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

This position will first work a 5/40 schedule for approximately 3-6 months of training before transitioning into the day shift schedule.

Examples of day shifts are included below:

• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II (Licensed) on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but are not limited to, the following:

Positions at the Psychiatric Technician I level may perform some of these duties and responsibilities in a learning capacity.

• Under the direction of clinical staff, provides medication management services to a caseload of clients in the office and in the field; ensures the proper acquisition and administration of medication.
   
• Provides education and training to clients, their families, and/or staff on the proper care and use of medications, including symptoms of, reactions to, or side effects of, specific medications; informs clients of the impact of abuse and/or misuse of medications.
   
• Conducts home/field visits to evaluate client’s physical environment and behavior such as anxiety, withdrawals, and behavioral health progression/regression.
   
• Takes and records measures of clients’ vital signs, physical condition, and behaviors; assists and observes clients self-dispense medication as prescribed by a psychiatrist and administers scheduled injections.
   
• Conducts medication checks on clients to assess their overall medication management capabilities; takes appropriate action if client poses danger with respect to the use or abuse of medication; observes, evaluates, records, and reports to professional staff changes in client’s condition.
   
• Motivates clients to develop self-reliance in daily living; encourages clients to participate in group and/or individual therapy/program activities.

The City of Menlo Park is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Analyst for the Public Works Department. Under general direction, the Regulatory Compliance Analyst coordinates and oversees the planning, development, and implementation of regulatory programs within the Public Works Department. The role involves organizing, investigating, developing, directing, and managing the activities of regulatory programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to engineering and related fields. The Regulatory Compliance Analyst will maintain a thorough understanding of the laws and regulations set forth by various federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Additionally, this specialist will inspect properties, facilities, operations, and construction activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

About the Department

The Public Works Department consists of approximately 72 full time employees and is responsible for maintaining and improving the City’s streets, parks, water and stormwater systems, traffic signals, fleet, and public buildings.  Public Works provides many of the basic services affecting the daily lives of everyone living, working, visiting, and commuting within the City, including:  

• 26 City-owned buildings/facilities and their grounds
• A fleet of over 250 vehicles and pieces of equipment
• 97 miles of streets
• Drinking water delivery for 16,000 customers
• Flood protection and stormwater management programs particularly along the San Francisco Bay, San Francisquito Creek and Atherton Channel
• 14 parks, 2 open spaces, 14 playgrounds, 2 dog parks, 9 sports fields, and 14 tennis/pickleball courts
• Efforts to preserve and expand the urban canopy, including 20,000 public trees
• Multimodal transportation services including 42 traffic signals, safe routes to schools and citywide shuttle programs. 

The department has nearly a $40 million operating budget supported by over 25 different special/dedicated funding sources for the varied programs and services provided to the community. In addition, the City has an approximate $100 million capital improvement program, in part due to a successful track record in pursuing grants from a variety of local, state and federal sources. Some of the exciting efforts on the horizon include efforts to protect the San Francisco Bay shoreline and adjacent community from sea level rise; efforts to eliminate the City’s reliance on fossil fuels through building and fleet electrification; making investments in transportation safety through strategic quick-build projects and large infrastructure changes like a pedestrian/bicycle undercrossing at Caltrain; and ensuring the equitable delivery of services throughout the entire city in alignment with the goals and programs developed as part of the city’s first environmental justice element underway.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City is recruiting a Deputy Fire Chief. This position performs responsible management, technical, personnel, budget and administrative work. Typical duties will include planning, directing, supervising and participating in the activities of one or more major divisions in the Fire Department. Under the direction of the Fire Chief, this position will directly supervise all Battalion Chiefs, Fire Marshal, Emergency Preparedness Outreach Coordinator and fire prevention personnel including sworn and non-sworn professional, technical and support personnel. The Deputy Chief may represent the San Carlos Fire Department as the primary liaison, under direction of the Fire Chief. The Deputy Chief will take command of the Departments in the absence of the Fire Chief, and performs related work as required.

The City of Burlingame is accepting applications for the position of On-Call Library Aide I/II

Ideal Candidate

The City of Burlingame is accepting applications for a part-time, 18 hours per week Library Aide.  Must be available to work a schedule that includes combination of day, evening and weekend shifts.  Must be able to work one evening and one weekend day per week. 

The Library Aide performs various routine and repetitive tasks relating to the maintenance of the library collection. Duties include shelving, sorting, filing and shifting of books, periodicals and other library materials. Maintains library reading rooms, stacks and other areas in clean order. Library Aides may process materials returned from circulation, including checking in the daily delivery on the computer system and moving boxes of books and other materials. May be asked to back up Circulation staff and assist in a variety of special projects and services as needed. Library Aides work in all divisions of the Library, including Circulation, Children's, Technical Services, Reference and the Easton Branch.

ABILITY TO:

Communicate and interact effectively and cooperatively with employees and library users of all ages; work under pressure of heavy service demands; be flexible in work scheduling; work as part of a team; remain calm when dealing with difficult situations and difficult people, handling situations with tact and firmness. Ability to stoop, bend and crouch to retrieve materials and books; lift books or other materials weighing up to 40 pounds; sit, stand and walk for long periods of time; push a fully loaded book truck; climb stairs. Hear and see well enough to perform the above duties.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position is $18.60-$25.14 per hour. This position is a temporary, part-time position and part of   Healthy Workplaces/Healthy Families Act: California Paid Sick Leave Benefit, as amended effective 1/1/2024. This benefit accrues at the rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked and is available after 90 days of employment. The maximum use of paid sick leave is 40 hours in a one-year period.  There is no cash value associated with benefit. There is no guarantee of hours and employment may end at any time. This position is at will and is not part of the City's Civil Service System.

ABOUT THE POSITION
City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a full-time Senior Maintenance Worker position assigned to the Wastewater section within the Utilities Department, Operations Division. 
Wastewater section personnel are responsible for the wastewater collection system including inspecting, cleaning, maintaining, constructing, and repairing sanitary sewer lines and lift stations. Under direct supervision of the Operations Services Supervisor, this position performs and supervises maintenance work within the Wastewater section and acts for the supervisor in his/her absence or direction. 
The selected professional will develop leadership skills by supervising team members in the field while performing tasks such as sewer repairs, line cleaning, and closed-circuit television inspections. They will also gain experience in scheduling and planning work based on departmental priorities, supporting the supervisor, and learning to operate both independently and as part of a team.

POLICE OFFICER - Academy Graduate - $8,419 to $11,416 per month (up to $13,128 with incentives)

The Department

The South San Francisco Public Works Department is comprised of its three main divisions - Engineering, Maintenance & Operations, and the Water Quality Control Plant. Together, these divisions ensure that South San Francisco's infrastructure and public services are efficiently managed and maintained, contributing to the overall quality of life in the community.

Located adjacent to San Francisco Bay on Colma Creek, the Water Quality Control Plant (WQCP) provides secondary wastewater treatment for the cities of South San Francisco, San Bruno, and Colma. It also provides the dechlorination treatment of chlorinated effluent for the cities of Burlingame, Millbrae, and the San Francisco International Airport prior to discharging the treated wastewater into San Francisco Bay. The average dry weather flow through the facility is 9 million gallons per day (MGD). Peak wet weather flows can exceed 60 MGD.
