The City of San Bruno is currently accepting applications for Public Safety Dispatcher, Per Diem candidates.
 
 

The Position

The San Bruno Police Department is recruiting for Per-Diem Public Safety Dispatchers. The San Bruno Police Department has a long-standing tradition of small-town service with big-city dedication to public safety. Public Safety Dispatchers are responsible for public safety dispatch and related records management activities. This is a per-diem position. Shifts are offered based on staffing needs, and per-diem employees may choose the open shifts that are available. Available shifts may include day, swing, or graveyard hours, including weekends, and holidays. Public Safety Dispatchers perform a wide range of duties involving radio, telephone, and computers, applying various procedures and codes. Dispatchers receive and transmit emergency and non-emergency telephone and radio traffic as well as process communication reports, records, and radio logs, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. Dispatchers may also support the Police Department by performing clerical tasks, training, assisting with fingerprinting, and being accountable for financial transactions. This position is integral in supporting the goals and objectives of the City and Police Department. 

Examples of Duties

• Receives and transmits emergency telephone and radio traffic.  
• Maintains and processes a variety of communications reports, records and radio logs.
• Operates a dispatch console, uses Computer Aided Dispatch (C.A.D.) System and other computer programs to process information and records.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality.

• Performs collateral duties including a variety of related clerical tasks: process warrants; assist in fingerprinting and jail operations, which may include searching prisoners; and is accountable for handling cash, bond, and check transactions.
   

• Maintains various C.A.D and Record Management Files.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Typical Qualifications

Supplemental Information

Part-time temporary employees serve in an at-will capacity and understand that service with the City may be terminated at any time. This position does not provide any benefits, with the exception of paid sick leave. In accordance with the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014, all temporary, part-time, and seasonal employees, who on or after July 1, 2015, work in California for 30 or more days within a year from the commencement of employment are entitled to paid sick leave for prescribed purposes. Employees will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked and are entitled to use accrued sick days beginning on the 90th day of employment. Employees may use up to 24 hours (or 3 days) of accrued sick leave in each year of employment.

GENERAL INFO 

Under general supervision, the Recreation Leader I/II provides essential support to recreation programs and services by performing custodial tasks, event setup and teardown, program support, and minor maintenance duties at various facilities, including parks and community centers. This temporary, parttime position requires working up to 20 hours per week. The role involves ensuring the facilities are clean, safe, and operational while delivering excellent customer service. UNIVERSAL POSITION DUTIES (Illustrative purposes only)

• Organize, inventory, and maintain facility materials and equipment. 

• Assist in organizing and supervising recreational programs in any one or more of the following areas: children, adults, senior citizens, and participants with special needs at playgrounds, community centers, and other recreational areas.

The City of Brisbane is seeking a Financial Services Manager to join our dynamic finance team. Under general direction of the Finance Director, provides supervision to the Finance staff and performs a wide range of complex professional accounting duties in the analysis, preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports; makes complex and difficult account analyses and reports; develops, implements and revises accounting systems, procedures and internal controls; coordinates the outside audit preparation of the comprehensive annual financial report; coordinates various automated accounting systems and modules and trains accounting staff in the use of such systems; and performs related duties as assigned.

This position class is at the management level and performs diverse and specialized accounting work that is complex and involves significant accountability and decision-making responsibility. THE DEPARTMENT

The Water Quality Control Plant (WQCP) processes wastewater discharge for the cities of South San Francisco, San Bruno and the Town of Colma. The Water Quality Control Plant is a division of the Public Works Department staffed by 38 employees including: Plant Superintendent; Operation, Maintenance, Laboratory and Environment Compliance Supervisors; Senior Chemist; Chemist; Lead Plant Mechanics; Plant Mechanics; Lead Plant Operators; Plant Operators; Electricians; Senior Environmental Compliance Inspector; Environmental Compliance Inspectors, Utility Workers, and two Administrative Assistants.

THE LABORATORY

The WQCP laboratory conducts vital chemical and microbiological tests to the wastewater treatment plant 365 days a year. The laboratory analyzes water samples throughout the various stages of treatment process, and provides the operation with quick feedback critical to maintaining and optimizing the treatment process as well as meeting requirements for regulatory monitoring. The Laboratory is accredited by the Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP) under the State Water Resources Control Board, and maintains accreditation in accordance with the 2016 TNI Standard.
