The City of Patterson is seeking a highly qualifed Public Works Director to plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operations of the Public Works Department including the urban forestry division, fleet maintenance division, water operations division, streets and collections division, wastewater treatment division, parks and landscape division, electrical and facility maintenance division, and  regulatory and environmental compliance  division.  The incumbent will coordinate assigned activities with other City departments and outside agencies and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager’s Office.

Equipment Mechanic Assistant I: $61,235.20- $74,422.40

Equipment Mechanic Assistant II: $67,225.60- $81,640.00
 

Position Duties

This position is open until filled with the first review date of May 28, 2026.

The Fleet Management Division in Public Works Department is responsible for the management of the City’s fleet including comprehensive inspection, maintenance, repair, acquisition, and disposal. The City’s vehicle and equipment fleet currently consists of over 2,700 assets.

The Department of Public Works Fleet Management Division is recruiting to fill one (1) Equipment Mechanic Assistant I/II (EMA I/II) position. The EMA I/II is responsible for performing inspections, communicating with other staff and customers, servicing, installation of electronic electrical equipment, ordering parts, entering data in the fleet management system, road testing and diagnosing problems to make various repairs and adjustments on automotive, heavy truck and/or heavy equipment. While working under general supervision, the EMA I/II will be expected to perform safely and follow all rules required by the City of San Jose. These positions, depending on facility assignments, will require working various shift hours and overtime.

The City of Dixon is excited to announce the recruitment for one (1) full-time, regular position of Water Operator I. This position performs a variety of maintenance, operations, and repair work on the City's water distribution system, including pumps, mains, chlorinators, meters, and other equipment. 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Work is performed in a variety of different environments with exposure to varying weather conditions including high temperatures, rain, and wind. Work is performed with exposure to hazardous materials, smoke, gasses, and fumes; with exposure to hazards such as, moving machine parts and live electrical current; and exposure to loud and/or high frequency noise. Occasional performance of heavy manual labor; occasional standing or driving for long periods of time; use of a computer; occasional climbing, work at heights above 10 feet; working on ladders, bending, stooping, crawling, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and repetitive hand movement. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Constant use of overall color vision. Frequent grasping, holding, and reaching. Frequent contact with other staff, outside agencies and the general public; occasional working alone. Night, weekend, and holiday hours will be required on a rotating schedule for 24/7 standby and weekend/holiday rounds.

EXAM PROCESS: A limited number of candidates whose applications indicate that they, among those competing, are better qualified in terms of related education, training and experience will be invited to participate in a written exam (pass/fail) and candidates who pass the written exam will be invited for an interview. The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is seeking an exceptional, process-orientated professional to serve as the Director of Housing Programs to assist with planning, organizing, managing, and providing administrative direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Housing Programs Department which administers the various assistance programs the AHA operates. This is a fast-paced agency that seeks to meet the mission through a high level of accountability and transparency.

AHA is particularly interested in applications from candidates with a strong track record in a Housing Choice voucher program management in a HUD or PHA position.
