San Juan Water District Seeks an Electrical Instrumentation Technician

The Electrical Instrumentation Technician is part of the Operations team, performing specialized and technical duties associated with the troubleshooting, maintenance, installation and repair of electrical gear, breakers, electronic equipment, and instrumentation controls associated with surface water treatment plant, pump stations, distributions system facilities, wholesale meters, and medium voltage solar site component. 

Duties Include: 

• Performing corrective and preventative maintenance on electrical switchgear, breakers, transformers, process control systems, flowmeters, transmitters, gauges and other instrumentation and control equipment.
• Performing skilled duties related to the troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation, and testing of instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controller’s (PLC’s), telemetry, electrical and electronic components and instruments used in treatment plants, distribution systems and solar fields. 
• Recognizing, identifying and correcting problems with control and instrumentation equipment.
• Planning, installing and maintaining sophisticated electrical, instrumentation, and control systems; developing and using diagnostic problem solving techniques.
• Inspecting, adjusting, installing, calibrating, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), breakers, transformers, motors, transducers, motor control centers, switches, wiring, electronic circuits, meter transmitters, (Cl2) sensors, and related devices.
• Installing, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting control systems and water quality instruments, analyzers and electrical systems as they relate to water treatment, distribution, and solar systems.
• Working collaboratively with engineering to maintain and modify drawings of District’s Electrical Systems, PLC’s and SCADA systems.
• Assisting in new project design, inspection, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical 
• Systems, including but not limited to, submittals, RFIs, change orders, site layout and planning of specific drawings.

To be considered, candidates should be knowledgeable of principles and practices of electrical theory and electrical circuits, practices and techniques used in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of radio telemetry, cellular communication, 4160V solar field, electrical and electronic equipment, instrumentation and controls as they relate to water treatment and distribution systems. 

The qualifications include:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with additional supplementary course work in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, control systems, or equivalent material pertaining to the field of electronics AND
• Three years of journey level experience in the design, construction, installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of electrical/electronic equipment, instrument systems, and control devices common to an industrial facility, water treatment plant, and distribution systems. 
• Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator's class C license.

The salary range is $55.81 - $66.97, depending on qualifications. In addition, the District offers competitive benefits which include District contribution to CalPERS retirement, medical (100% of premium for most offered plans), dental and vision for employee and dependents; District paid life insurance; 12 paid days of sick leave; 12 paid holidays; and paid vacation depending on length of service. In addition, the District provides retiree health benefits with 50% of the premium paid with 10 years of service and an additional 5% with each year of service up to 100% with 20 years of service in CalPERS participating agencies.

DEFINITION To plan, coordinate, supervise and review the activities and operations of the Building Inspection division; to enforce the laws, codes and ordinances dealing with the construction of new buildings and the alteration and safety of existing buildings; coordinate and manager the Permit Center; personally perform the more complex project assignments; and to do related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This is a single-position classification functioning as the Chief Building Official.  This position is responsible for the building inspection program for Glenn County, the Permit Center, and oversight for the construction of/on County owned buildings.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives general direction from the Agency Director; exercises functional and technical supervision over assigned building inspection staff.

SRFECC is preparing for a Dispatcher Academy, beginning February 2026! As a Dispatcher I, you will be a key player in the public safety network, managing both emergency and non-emergency calls. Your role involves receiving critical information, dispatching appropriate Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) resources, providing live-saving instructions, relaying facts, and ensuring effective communication throughout the incident. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals with no prior public safety dispatching experience. Advancement to Dispatcher II is expected within two years, and offers greater responsibility and higher pay.

This position requires the ability to work well under pressure, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, and think quickly during emergency situations. Shift work is required, and you must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
Dispatch Operations:

• Operate a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) console with a multi-line telephone system, radio console, and office computer terminal.
• Answer incoming calls and gather necessary information to evaluate the nature and urgency of the situation, and triage the call appropriately.
• Following applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines, dispatch appropriate Fire and EMS units, ensuring a prompt and accurate response.
• Keep track of the location and status of fire apparatus, units, and investigators, updating as needed.

Communication and Coordination:

• Transmit critical messages to Fire/EMS units responding to emergencies.
• Provide emergency medical self-help instructions to citizens while EMS units are en route.
• Coordinate with external agencies, such as utility companies, water services, and law enforcement agencies, as needed.

Support and Documentation:

• Answer general inquiries or refer calls to the appropriate department for non-emergency concerns.
• Complete department forms, maintain accurate logs, and ensure compliance with procedures.

Preschool Teacher

Under direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Teacher plans, schedules, and organizes preschool classes for the City’s Village Park Preschool program, assures policies and procedures are maintained, and performs related work as required.

Essential Duties

• Plan, organize, and implement activities that support early childhood education and socialization
• Lead a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time

• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility

Under the direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This includes helping with classroom activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and clean learning environment.

Essential Duties

• Assist in implementing activities that support early childhood education and socialization.
• Assist with a variety of activities including, but not limited to, arts and crafts, organized games, story time, music/singing activities, science, cooking, early writing skills, and interactive circle time.
• Ensure proper safety precautions are observed.
• Maintain and care for supplies, equipment, and the facility.
• Set up daily snack.
• Change diapers and support toilet training.
• Complete assigned paperwork, including timecards and incident and accident reports.
• Communicate with parents and staff to disseminate information and build positive relationships.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
• Early Childhood Education units a plus.

School Year (August-May)

• Lil Sprouts: Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 9am-11:30pm (2 year olds)
• Lil’ Sprouts: Tuesday/Thursday: 9:00am-11:30am (2 year olds)
• Cottage Kids: Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 8:45am-12:15pm (3 year olds)
• Cottage Kids: Tuesday/Thursday: 8:45am-12:15pm (3 year olds)
• Afternoon Owls: Tuesday/Thursday: 12:30pm-3:30pm (3 year olds)

Summer Camp (June 9-August 8)

• Monday- Friday: 9am-12pm (3-4 year olds)

Work Schedule:

• 8-20 Hours a week       
• Maximum of 960 hours per fiscal year  

                                         

Benefits: Healthy Workplaces/Healthy Families Act of 2014 Paid Sick Leave Benefit. This benefit accrues at the rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked to a maximum benefit of 24 hours per year. There is no cash value associated with the benefit. No other benefits are offered. This position is at will and is not part of the City's Civil Service System. There is no guarantee of hours and employment may end at any time. 

Salary: $23.27-$28.82 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is currently hiring to fill a full-time vacancy for the position of Peer Support Specialist I/II (PSS) within the Mental Health Student Services Act (MHSSA) program. The PSS position provides peer-to-peer support services in the office and/or in the field including, but not limited to outreach, support, encouragement, guidance, advocacy, and referrals to external resources and services for clients and their families; builds rapport with clients and their families through sharing stories of lived experience and recovery. Funding for this position will end on July 1, 2026. 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Encourages and supports clients to fully engage in services; provides outreach and assists clients in addressing and overcoming barriers to treatment.
   
• Provides resources and referrals to address basic needs and other barriers to wellness and recovery including food, housing, clothing, transportation, and other financial resources.
   
• Assists clients with setting, implementing, and tracking wellness and recovery goals; develops individual Wellness and Recovery Action Plans (WRAP); models and shares effective coping strategies.
   
• Assists clients and families to understand behavioral health problems and steps to recovery.
   
• Provides support and guidance in navigating systems and obtaining additional support services; attends meetings and therapy sessions with clients (as needed); assists with completing applications and forms; and ensures client concerns are address and processes understood.
